PJSC "Crimean Soda Plant": features and reviews

PJSC "Crimean Soda Plant" is a large manufacturer of soda ash "A" and "B" with a 40-year history. The company specializes in the production and supply of technical soda, soda products, building lime, detergents, salt.

Historical reference

In the 1960s, with the development of the chemical, glass, and construction industries, the issue of providing branch enterprises with soda and its derivatives became acute. Scientists of the Leningrad Giprokhim and Kharkov NIOCHIM jointly developed a project for erecting a new soda plant. The location for the construction was chosen in Krasnoperekopsk due to the availability of readily available raw materials.

08/25/1967 USSR Council of Ministers commissioned to build the Crimean Soda Plant with record capacity indicators:

  • Disodium phosphate - 200,000 tons annually;
  • Soda ash - 675,000 tons;
  • Acid phosphorous thermal - 60,000 tons.

Construction work began in the spring of 1968. The launch of the first stage of the compressor station took place on December 28, 1973. Sodoproduct disodium phosphate was first produced. The first calcined soda was obtained in a new production on 30.06.1975.

The enterprise had a great production potential, high-performance equipment was supplied from the GDR. With the development of the technological cycle, the quality of soda improved. In 1977, the products were certified for the Quality Mark of the USSR. Crimean Soda Plant was the first in the USSR to produce heavy soda (1980). For this remarkable achievement, many members of the team were awarded with Diplomas of the Exhibition of National Economic Achievements of the USSR and the Ukrainian SSR.

New time

In 2003, KSZ was privatized. The attracted investments made it possible to significantly modernize the technological equipment, to reduce the harmful emissions by 15%, and to reduce the fuel and energy resources. In particular, a turbine workshop with a capacity of 6 MW has been put into operation, a new air-packing line has been installed, steam calcinators have been reconstructed, a medium-pressure gas pipeline has been installed, and a progressive technology for the automation of financial and financial activities has been introduced. Over the next 5 years, the volume of soda production increased by one third, net income increased 2.9 times.

The plant remains one of the most developed and profitable enterprises of the Krasnoperekopsky district and the Crimea as a whole. The reserve, left by previous owners, allows to further increase the output of such important products.

Description

The Crimean Soda Plant was the only national supplier of soda ash of popular brands "A" and "B" in Ukraine. Today, with the change of ownership, the enterprise is a subject of the chemical industry in Russia.

In addition to technical soda, KSZ produces the composition "Syavo", used in the manufacture of household chemical goods, baking soda, construction lime, salt, a variety of food grade Extra. For maintenance in the winter period of the street-road network the plant offers anti-ice reagents based on calcium chloride. In 2015 the enterprise was reorganized into PJSC "Crimean Soda Plant". In 2015, KSZ produced 524800 tons of soda brand, 335,000 tons of brand A, and more than 20,000 tons of baking soda. The production of food salt, launched in 2008, is developing most dynamically. It produced 22465 tons, of which 205 tons in tablet form, 69 tons in carton.

Production

The most important types of raw materials for the industrial production of calcined soda by the method of Solva are sodium chloride and chalk (limestone). They are mined in the vicinity of Krasnoperekopsk. Thus, KSZ is provided with its own raw materials, which gives the plant certain advantages.

Soda of the Crimean Soda Plant is produced by the ammonia method (Solve method). This is a multi-stage process, which includes the following stages:

  • Obtaining lime and carbon dioxide.
  • Getting lime milk.
  • Cleaning of raw brine.
  • Preparation of ammoniated brine in the absorption compartment.
  • Carbonization of brine.
  • Filtration of a liquid suspension of sodium bicarbonate.
  • His calcination in the shop of soda ovens.
  • Regeneration of ammonia from liquids of soda production in the distillation unit.

Ecology

Crimean Soda Plant as a major chemical company has a negative impact on the ecology of the region. In the production activity of the plant, a significant amount of solid, liquid waste is generated and then released into the environment. Danger is caused by:

  • Highly mineralized waste, represented by distillation suspensions and desalinization sludge;
  • Weakly mineralized wastewater generated after purification of lime-calcination kilns and chemical water purification;
  • Excess solutions of sodium bicarbonate production.

The waste enters the sludge collectors, called "white seas". Evaporator-evaporator KSZ is located in the northern part of Lake Krasnoe, which is part of the Perekop group of inundated salt lakes (Krasnoye, Kiyatskoye, Kirleutskoye). It is located 10 kilometers from the Black Sea Gulf of Karkinitsky. The total area of the clarifier is more than 23 million m 2 .

Problems and solutions

After the accession of the Republic of Crimea in 2014 JSC "Crimean Soda Plant" passed under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation. In response, Ukraine suspended the flow of water through the North-Crimean Canal. As a result, the company lost the technical water needed for the production cycle. The problem was solved by drilling of water-bearing wells. To filter the fluid supplied from the wells, it was required to build a reverse osmosis unit with a capacity of 500 m 3 per hour.

Another problem was the power blackout, caused by the undermining of power poles on the border with the Crimea in the winter of 2015. The plant for uninterrupted production needs about 20 MW / h. However, the company has its own mini-TPP, which generates electricity and heat.

Reviews

KSZ is one of the largest on the planet profile enterprises, controlling 2% of the world market of soda. It cooperates with leading chemical companies and dealers. The feedback of the partners speaks about the worthy quality of the products, prompt shipping and attractive pricing policy. Ordinary soda of the Crimean plant is highly valued by ordinary consumers.
