Philharmonic of Kharkov: the poster, concerts, repertoire

The Philharmonic of Kharkov was created in 1929 in the premises of the former club. It is the oldest concert organization in Ukraine. The Philharmonic was designed in 1885 in the image and likeness of the palace of the French kings of the Tuileries, that in Paris. However, after the arson of Paris communards all the interiors burned out.

History of the philharmonic society

At the end of the XIX century in the Philharmonic of the city of Kharkov the first cinema show took place in Ukraine. Built on Russian soil, it was bombed in wartime, but miraculously remained a single copy of the unique acoustics of this type of building.

It was in the premises of the Kharkov Philharmonic (photo of which can be seen in the article) that the successful premiere of the opera "Taras Bulba" and the wonderful ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" was held.

Philharmonic of Kharkov was visited by such well-known personalities as P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninov, F. Shalyapin, L. Sobinov, M. Battistini, A. Nezhdanova, V. Spivakov, A. Gavrilyuk and other famous artists.

The premise of the concert organization is located on the parallel street from one of the most outstanding theaters of the city - KhATOB. At the moment the hall of the Philharmonic is being restored, but according to the ingenious plan of the architects, it will retain its acoustic features. The main building is not opened, and now the audience visits the Philharmonic through the entrance, which is located on the side of the new building.

Philharmonic address: Kharkiv, Rymarskaya street, 21. It is in the center of the city. Just in the middle between the metro stations "Ploshchad Konstitutsii" (former m. "Soviet") and "University".

At the entrance to the building you can see a poster, on which there are descriptions of upcoming concerts and evenings. The Philharmonia's ticket office is located inside the premises and works every day without interruption from 11.00 to 19.00. Also tickets can be ordered on the official website of the institution on-line.

The price for tickets varies from 60 to 300 UAH. They can be redeemed at the time the cashier works, throughout the week, starting from the time of booking. The beginning of sessions in the philharmonic society, as a rule, is at 18.30.

For a privileged category of the population, if there is a certificate confirming the identity of the pensioner, there is a discount of 20%.

At the end of May 2017, you can visit the Philharmonic Society and hear the Mayboroda Bandurist Chapel led by Yuri Kurach (Ukrainian folk and modern songs), and also get to the performance of Igor Snedkov's ensemble "3 + 2" (classic and ensemble hits).

Excursion

In the room, its inimitable atmosphere and exceptional acoustics. The hall is more than 180 years old, it was not without reason that it was awarded the title of "architectural monument". The building has a wardrobe, as well as a small collection of paintings of artists known in the city. The Philharmonic Hall (Kharkov, Rymarskaia), whose photo you see below, boasts the presence of an organ that conquers with its grandeur.

The hall accommodates about 600 seats. Decoration and exterior decoration pleases the visitors, and the technique and professional lighting enhance the effect, clean sound also helps the overall perception and understanding.

When the premises of the oldest concert organization were restored, music could be listened to in a beautiful organ hall located in the Assumption Cathedral. A wonderful atmosphere and acoustics add to the sound of the instrument of power and sonority. The hall opened more than 30 years ago. The room is designed for 470 people. Every year there is a festival of organ and chamber music.

Philharmonic repertoire

You can stop the choice at a concert for an adult audience or listen to the classics with children. The repertoire in the Kharkov Philharmonic is very diverse. For jazz lovers there are also suitable options. It is necessary only to dwell on the genre you liked and the convenient time of your visit.

Yuri Yanko is the director of the Philharmonic, the main conductor, and also the laureate of the International Competition of Conductors Vakhtang Jordania. The works of the ensemble are kept in the funds of the National Radio. Videos are broadcast in TV shows.

Live instrumental performance

In the early 80's, a chamber choir was organized on the initiative of the People's Artist V. Palkin. In 10 years he received the title of philharmonic. The choir won prizes and wins in elite all-Ukrainian and international competitions.

The symphony orchestra includes more than 100 professional musicians. Among them: the instrumental ensemble "3 + 2" under the leadership of I. Snedkov, organist S. Kalinin, soloists-instrumentalists, soloists-vocalists of chamber and variety genre, masters of the artistic word, artists of original genres. Participants of the orchestra periodically participate in various international forums of classical music.

In the ensemble "3 + 2", graduate students from the Institute of Arts of Kharkov are involved. Among the children there are participants and winners of international and national competitions.

Each year the philharmonic society expands the repertoire, conducts work on organizing new concerts and interesting programs. Creates conditions for family joint cultural recreation, promotes the musical development of children and youth.

The main function of the philharmonic society is the service to art, the institution is working to popularize domestic and foreign classical music, to preserve and develop the cultural traditions of peoples, to involve young people in them.
