"Pharmatex" (candles) - features of application

The drug "Pharmatex" (candles) is a vaginal suppository that has a cylindrical shape and a conical end, they are white and can have a fat smell. The main active substance is benzalkonium chloride, and semi-synthetic glycerides and hydroxypropylcellulose are used as auxiliary agents.

Also, the drug "Pharmatex" is available in the form of vaginal tablets, vaginal cream and tampons.

"Pharmatex" (candles) cause the destruction of spermatozoa, at the same time the flagella is broken first, and then the head, this leads to the fact that they become incapable of fertilization. Indications for use

Pharmatex (suppositories) is recommended to be used in case of using the vaginal diaphragm or IUD as an additional method of local contraception.

Contraindications for use

This remedy can not be used for people who have mental disorders, as well as for those who can not perceive this type of contraception :

- in the presence of colpitis, as well as ulcers and irritations on the mucous membrane of the uterus or vagina;

- in the presence of high sensitivity to the components of candles.

Pharmatex - instructions for use

Candles are administered in the supine position on the back not later than 5 minutes before the sexual intercourse begins . They last for four hours, if you plan to have another sexual intercourse, then you need to lay a new suppository.

Tablets are administered in the same way, but 10 minutes before intimacy and only 3 hours are effective.

Possible side effects

After applying this drug, contact dermatitis, itching, burning can occur, in such cases, the use of this drug should be discontinued and alternative methods of contraception should be sought.

To maximize the effectiveness of this medication, it is recommended to adhere strictly to the rules of its use. To introduce this remedy should be as deep as possible, wait for the specified time, which for each form of the drug is different. Do not use soap for genital hygiene two hours before sexual intercourse and two hours after its end, for this purpose there are special means, which do not include substances that destroy this drug.
