The young perch feeds on various small animals that live in water: these are worms, insect larvae, and other invertebrates. An adult is considered a real predator. It feeds not only on insects living in the water column, but also on other fish. The predator hides in ambush and lies in wait for its prey. Together with this perch river is food for other animals - fish and birds. So, they are fed catfish, pike perch, pike, often terns, gulls and other birds.
