Pattern of a box from a cardboard and a fabric

Do you like to craft and make a variety of souvenirs and gifts? Looking for new opportunities? Try to make the same souvenir as on the next photo. It is not difficult. The pattern of the box is taken ready from the template or aligned by analogy itself. In the first case, you just need to outline the scheme on the cardboard and fabric, cut out the details and put it into the finished thing. The second method will take a little longer, but this way you will create an exclusive author's thing.

How to run the template

If you ever met a pattern of a casket of plywood, or rather, a drawing of its individual parts, then you know, for a cardboard you can use the same workpiece. You have two options:

  • Select the template you like and print it to the desired scale.
  • Run the drawing yourself, having developed your design or using the sample.

In both cases, you need to know the size of the finished product that you are going to create.

What materials and tools are needed?

In order for you to get the right pattern of the box and a quality, neat product in the future, prepare the following:

  • cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • Paper;
  • pencil;
  • Ruler;
  • eraser;
  • A rod with a pointed end (a spoke, a toothpick) for performing clear even folds on the cardboard;
  • Fabric for finishing and filler (if necessary);
  • glue;
  • Threads, if the product will consist of separate elements;
  • Decor (beads, beads, satin ribbons, flowers, sequins, butterflies, etc.)

As you can see, nothing unusual will be needed either to make a pattern, or to perform the souvenir itself.

Casket of cardboard

Patterns, sweeps, schemes, preparations of similar products can be the most various, however there are two variants of creation:

  • Making a three-dimensional product from a flat circuit cut from paper by bending the elements in the appropriate places.
  • Stitching of the individual parts forming the three-dimensional object.

In the first method, you will need to preliminarily conduct the guides along the fold lines with a pointed object. This will allow in the future accurately and without bending to bend tight cardboard in the form of an even line. In this case, you need to provide for gluing places, if you build the scheme yourself.

The second method involves stitching the parts, so you do not need admission to gluing, but you will need to make holes around the perimeter of each part at a small distance from the edge of the element. It is better to use an awl and prepare a preliminary marking of the holes so that they are at the same distance from each other and from the edge too. Sewing can be done with a needle or by tying the hooked parts together.

Pattern of a box from a fabric

If you do not have a beautiful decorative cardboard, but many bright patches, you will easily create your own unique design of the box. Glue the elements of matter before assembly. To build a pattern for parts of fabric, you need to use a template for the cardboard base and add allowances for bending material from the front to the back. To ensure that these allowances are not visible inside the casket, it makes sense to glue an additional layer, for example, of beautiful paper, onto the inner side after tightening the carton blank with a cloth.

Variety of options

The first illustration of this section shows the pattern of the box and its appearance in the volume. This scheme can be used for products made of cardboard, fabric or postcards. In this case, the lower part can be made from a single sheet with fold lines at the places indicated by the dotted line and be sewn from individual elements. In the second case, allowances for gluing must be removed.

The lid of the product is easiest to carry out the method proposed in the scheme, cutting out a piece similar to the bottom in shape and size, and gluing it to the base on a strip of cardboard. The second method is more labor-intensive, but the lid of the box will turn out to be presentable. The scheme is the same as for the base, only on a slightly enlarged scale, because the finished product should be easily put on the lower part. To understand how much you need to increase the size, it is enough to measure the thickness of the cardboard and take it twice the size.

The following image shows a pattern of a pentagonal casket made of cardboard, which can also be decorated with a cloth. Here the lid is one with the bottom, which is convenient. If you do also the workpiece from the fabric on this pattern, do not forget to add allowances for bending the material inside, where they are not on the template (it was originally intended for assembly of the cardboard product).

If you want to make a box in the form of a cube, use the next workpiece. By the way, this option is perfect for creating a casket of postcards (a photo of the finished sample is in the next section).

If you prefer a rectangular version, then take the next pattern-workpiece. Print out the template in a suitable size, cut out the shape on the contour and make folds in the appropriate places. Glue where required. Your box, consisting of a base and a lid, is ready!

So, you saw several variants of schemes for caskets, according to which it is not difficult to make products of different shapes and designs. Each drawing can become a model for the development of your individual design.

Original products from available material

By analogy with cardboard it is easy to make a pattern of a casket from postcards by oneself. Just as the basis material is taken unnecessary color postcards. In this case, the parts of the product are cut out separately, and instead of making folding lines, the elements are sewn with threads through pre-created holes along the contour of each part.

So, you saw how easy it is to make a casket pattern. Choosing one template, you can do different design options. Everyone will receive an exclusive author's thing of his own execution.
