KAMAZ 55102 - production history

This truck was first put into production in 1980. Its chassis was manufactured in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, and in Neftekamsk a cab and a tilting body were installed on it. KAMAZ 55102 was developed at the design bureau of the Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant. But, despite this, the car had similar features with the "ten-ton" model 5320, which was made back in the 70-ies of the twentieth century. Truck construction, its load capacity and application

The car had the same wheel formula 6x2. With a load capacity of 10 tons, the truck could drive on the most difficult roads, including cross-country terrain. It was intended for the transportation of various bulk goods - crushed stone, sand, grains and many others. The chassis was equipped with a special hydraulic device, which provided a three-way unloading of materials. This opportunity added to his popularity. In addition, two trailers were used on the truck: GKB and SZAP stamps. Thus, the useful volume of the cargo compartment was doubled (in fact, the load-carrying capacity, too). But with a full load of 20 tons (this was already considered an overload), its maximum speed was no more than 50 kilometers per hour. Therefore, conscientious drivers tried not to load goods with a weight of more than 15 tons to the truck.

Cab of the car

The child of the Kama Automobile Plant was equipped with a comfortable (at that time) cabin without a sleeping bag. The car accommodated two passengers. In Soviet times KAMAZ cab was considered almost the standard of comfort among all heavy vehicles. And there are many explanations for this. What other domestic car in the 80's was equipped with sound insulation, how not KAMAZ? What about seat belts? The same applies to the sprung driver's seat, which could be adjusted to the weight of the driver, not to mention the adjustable back. By its design, the cab had a bonnet layout, which significantly reduced the length of the truck without cutting the salon space. Access to the motor was provided by tilting the cab forward. It was a new, non-standard solution.

KAMAZ 55102 - price

At the moment, this model of the truck has long been removed from production. It was replaced by new KAMAZ vehicles - more powerful, comfortable and economical. Buy KAMAZ 55102 can only be in the secondary market. Here the prices fluctuate very much. So, a 25-year-old truck can be bought at a price of 350 to 900 thousand rubles.
