Orenair: reviews. Orenair - "Orenburg Airlines"

The market of air transportation in Russia, as experts believe, can simultaneously be characterized as promising and as being in the stage of struggle of the main players with strong crisis trends. The fall in the ruble exchange rate had a particularly strong impact on airline operations - a significant percentage of aircraft are purchased or leased in foreign currency, while domestic ruble revenue in proportionate proportions does not increase. Among the airlines, which, according to analysts, have all the resources to withstand the crisis - "Orenburg Airlines." The carrier has interesting, according to experts, a business model, and what is especially important - its passengers actively leave positive reviews on thematic portals.

Now Orenair concentrates its efforts on the charter market. However, the company's management plans, largely conditioned by the realities of the market, are a reorientation of activities to the promising domestic transport market. What may be the chances of Orenair to develop a new segment? What is the degree of sentiment in the experts' comments on the development prospects of the airline? How big can there be for Orenair competition from other market players?

Orenair: general information

Orenair was founded in 1932. The first airline on which flights began to fly, connected Moscow and Tashkent. The main airports of its aircraft base are located, in fact, in Orenburg, as well as in Moscow. The company "Orenburg Airlines" is a subsidiary of Aeroflot. That is, 100% of its shares belong to the largest Russian air carrier.

Among the newly opened passenger transportation routes, which JSC "Orenburg Airlines" carries out, is the flight "Chelyabinsk-Sochi". It has been operating since late December 2014. From Chelyabinsk, Orenburg Airlines will fly on Sundays, from Sochi, in turn, on Saturdays. There is evidence that the company will continue to expand its presence in the market by increasing the routes connecting the Russian regions.

Consider the structure of the Orenair fleet.

Fleet

Airline Orenair has a fairly large fleet of aircraft - about 30 cars. Its composition is fully formed by Boeing aircraft. The main part of the aircraft is medium-haul Boeing 737-400, 737-800, as well as several Boeing 777-200ER aircraft capable of carrying out long-distance transcontinental flights.

Economic indicators

The company "Orenburg Airlines" in the period from January to November 2014 transported 2.8 million passengers. This figure was 3.7% less than that recorded for the same period in 2013. The financial results of the company's activity were also very modest. In particular, the company's net loss for three quarters of 2014 amounted to more than 3.5 billion rubles. However, in terms of revenue generation, Orenair is among the leading companies of the holding Aeroflot: the earnings of an air carrier from one passenger is about 7 thousand rubles. Moreover, as some public data show, of 3.5 billion rubles. A loss of about 1.5 is the debts of other firms (which we will consider a little later) before the Orenburg Airlines.

The main part of Orenair's services within the framework of passenger air transportation is provided in the framework of charter contracts. Regular flights are about 35%. It can be noted that Orenair air tickets are sold for more than 255 international charter destinations. However, as some experts believe, due to the likely decline in the activities of Russians in terms of foreign travel, one can expect a change in priorities in the allocation of resources by the airline.

There is a version that now regular flights Orenair airlines perform only in cases when tourist destinations due to seasonal factors or other reasons are idle or not in high demand. However, according to analysts, the company in the near future can activate domestic flights due to a decline in activities of travelers who are accustomed to visiting foreign resorts: the dollar to ruble rate has grown, and Russians are cheaper to rest at home.

At the same time, according to many reviews, Orenair is a provider of comfortable services in terms of flights to popular destinations in warm foreign countries.

Home Airports

The main cities where the Orenair air fleet is based, as we have already said, are Orenburg and Moscow. In the first city there is one airport, in Moscow the airline uses two - Vnukovo and Domodedovo. It can be noted at the same time that, having planned initially transportation at a particular airport, the company may decide to use the other as the main one. So, for example, in the fall of 2014, Orenair opened several new destinations from Moscow. The main airport was originally Domodedovo. But in November the dislocation of flights changed in favor of Vnukovo. From this airport, flights to Rostov-on-Don, Omsk, Kazan and other large Russian cities are now performed.

Many passengers, like experts, did not like the fact (comments to the media commentaries on the industry commentary indicate): Orenair offered passengers to hand over tickets that were already in their hands. That is, if, for example, a person has booked a place on a flight to Kazan from Domodedovo, then on the fact of changing the airport to Vnukovo he had to buy a new ticket. The old, however, while the airline allowed to pass without charging any penalties.

Modernization of the air fleet and personnel policy

Above we noted that the basis of the air fleet Orenair - aircraft of the brand Boeing. There is information that the airline will replace them in the foreseeable future, and in some cases, withdraw the relevant category of equipment from use. Employees employed on flights served by aircraft of this type are supposed to be transferred to other structures of Aeroflot, a company that owns Orenair. As representatives of the airline itself stated in the media, there are no any cuts in personnel.

A simple example: the interaction between Orenair, as well as such structures as the low-fire "Dobrolet" and the airline that replaced it, "Victory". As you know, the Russian low-fire due to some difficulties stopped its work in 2014. As a result, the crews of the Dobrolyte planes moved to work in Orenair. This allowed Aeroflot to employ valuable personnel. In turn, when a new airline, Pobeda, began to operate instead of Dobrolet, the flight personnel began to transfer to this company from Orenair. Thus, the company "Aeroflot" "Orenburg Airlines" involved as a reliable partner at a difficult time for one of the subsidiaries, namely, "Dobroleta". Actually, it will be interesting to study this precedent in more detail.

Help "Dobroletu"

In the summer of 2014, the company "Dobrolet", designed to solve the problem of granting Russian passengers the opportunity to fly inexpensively, was, according to public information, under foreign sanctions. Their nature consisted in the fact that Dobrolet carried out passenger transportation to the Crimean peninsula, which, in the opinion of foreign partners of the Russian company, entered the Russian Federation illegally. As a result, restrictive measures have been taken with regard to the low fire, such as the cancellation of leasing contracts, insurance contracts and machine maintenance agreements. The airline, which has just started preferential transportation within the framework of the areas gaining popularity among Russians, has found itself in a difficult situation.

Due to a political factor, the carrier was forced to suspend activities. However, soon after the information about the complexities of Dobrolyot in various sources, information began to appear that Orenburg Airlines would come to the aid of the Russian low-coster. Feedback from experts and analysts on this scenario as a whole was optimistic. Orenair had a ready fleet and access to the necessary infrastructure.

True, Orenair was able to help "Dobrota" only for a limited number of routes. The destinations that the airline agreed to serve from Orenburg are the Moscow-Simferopol flight in both directions, as well as the flight from the capital to Volgograd and back. It was assumed that Orenair will transport about 65.5 thousand customers of Dobrolyte. Regarding other low-cost flights - to Volgograd, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Ufa, Kazan - tickets were returned to passengers.

It should be noted that many experts were not surprised that it was "Orenburg Airlines" (analysts' testimonials confirm this) that were chosen by Dobroleta partner. The first reason is that both airlines have a common owner, Aeroflot. The second is that a significant part, according to experts, Orenair aircraft was already then available for use within domestic flights. The third possible reason, according to analysts, the reason - the planes used in Dobroleta were the same series that are used in Orenair, medium-haul Boeing cars. That is, the crews of the liners, working in low-cost, could easily switch to the planes of the Orenburg Airlines.

Passenger Reviews

What is the degree of mood that reflects the reviews published by the passengers of the airline? Orenair, according to many tourists, the carrier, which, above all, pays attention to the pricing policy. The cost of the airline's services, according to many passengers (based on subjective views), is moderate. Orenair tickets for scheduled flights, as the company's customers believe, are quite competitive in price with the offers of other carriers in those regions where the airline operates.

Many people are impressed by the company's readiness to provide comfort to passengers, in particular in the aspect of baggage transportation. So, for example, the company, announcing the introduction of a new route - Chelyabinsk-Sochi, which we noted at the beginning of the article, promised that passengers of this flight will be able to take for free with them to the plane ski, snowboard, hockey accessories. While most other airlines allow it to do, subject to additional payment.

Prospects

Thus, on the part of the airline's customers, a trend is visible, reflecting the desire of people to leave positive reviews on thematic portals. Orenair in terms of passenger satisfaction is a carrier that is likely to be able to compete with the largest Russian and international airlines. However, what do experts say about the assessment of the prospects for the development of this brand of the air transportation industry?

According to some analysts, the company's growth dynamics will largely depend on external factors. This is also recognized by the leaders themselves Orenair. Above we noted one of the reasons for the crisis trend - the fall in the ruble exchange rate, and as a consequence - the decline in tourism activity. At the same time, the airline has to pay lease and leasing payments in dollars and euros. Thus, business positions are threatened at once in two aspects.

Experts believe that despite the fact that "Orenburg Airlines" reviews receive good news from their passengers, the company's market prospects in the foreseeable future probably can not be described as promising. It is necessary to maintain current positions, analysts believe, to adapt the business model to the crisis conditions.

In search of a new development model

Many experts are impressed by the fact that "Orenburg Airlines" (many analysts confirm this testimony) is an example of a company that does not sit still in a difficult market situation. In particular, the management of the carrier, as experts say, is working to find new segments of the market - is exploring the opportunities for reorienting flights from charter to domestic destinations. The necessary infrastructure in Russia for this, according to analysts, is. Regional airports, experts believe, will be pleased with the growth of air carrier activities. An example of one of successfully implemented projects on the transfer of flights to domestic destinations is the opening of a route to Sochi, which we have already described.

In some cases, similar to the aspirations of the airlines can go players of the market of a contiguous profile. For example, it is known that the company Aerofuels, engaged in the fuel supply of carriers in Kurgan, expressed its readiness to make discounts for Orenair when flying from the marked settlement to Moscow.

The company itself plans to develop a strategy for optimizing the business model. The airports in different Russian regions are being studied, the prospects of payback of certain flights are being analyzed, the bases of agents that will sell air tickets are being created.

Competition in new markets

Among the experts, it is believed that the Orenair airline may face significant competition in new directions in the development of the market, particularly in the segment of domestic transportation. So, other strong market players, such as, for example, Nordwind, which also specializes in charter flights, also expect to occupy a notable niche in the segment of regional flights. The reason is the same as in the case of the revision of Orenair's business strategy, a decrease in the activity of Russian tourists traveling abroad.

Many experts believe that the concept of business development to which Orenair can move will, thus, be close to most other carriers specializing in charter destinations. Moreover, as some analysts calculate, the domestic segment of transportation is growing. At the same time, experts believe, the capacity of the corresponding market may not be as high as the airlines want to see. Russians traditionally prefer to travel by train within the country. Despite the fact that the tariffs of airlines in general are comparable with the prices for rail transport, many experts believe that the reorientation of citizens to travel in Russia by air can be quite slow.

Tourist factor

Prospects for the development of charter airlines, including Orenair, can be complicated by the crisis situation in the sphere of direct partners in the so far flagship industry - tour operators. Many of the companies of the corresponding profile in recent years went bankrupt. Much of it is experiencing strong financial difficulties. It is known that some of the major players in the tourism industry have very high debts to Orenair. There are legal proceedings and it is not known if the debtors will have enough resources to pay off the Orenburg Airlines. And without these funds, experts believe, investing in new markets for the airline can be a very difficult task.
