Horrors of Nazi Germany: the project "Gemini"

The Gemini project is another horrific experiment by Nazi Germany. For a long time he was considered only a legend, frightening the human consciousness with his savagery. However, recently secret archives have opened up that could reveal the veil of secrecy and show the truth to the world, no matter how terrible it may be.

Project "Gemini": origins

The main idea of Nazi Germany was the purity of the Aryan race. It was on this belief that their inner and outer world, their faith and dreams were built. Therefore, it is not surprising that many nationalist organizations that propagated this idea began to appear at that troubled time.

One of them was the German Society for the Study of Ancient German History, better known as Anenerbe (from it, the "legacy of ancestors"). The origin of this community fell on July 1935, and it was headed by none other than Heinrich Himmler. Thanks to his influence, Anenerbe quickly turned into a powerful force capable of manipulating the minds of the nation.

As for the destination, the "Legacy of the Ancestors" was to prove the historical superiority of German blood. Later, the range of responsibilities was significantly expanded and Anenerbe became a community studying science.

The Angel of Death - Josef Mengele

Organization Anenerbe led research in many areas, from ancient history to genetics. It was the latter who was most interested in the Nazis, since it allowed them to change the world according to their whims (at least, so they believed). And one of the greatest minds working in this field was Joseph Mengele.

This man possessed a developed intellect, capable of solving the most complex riddles. However, this same mind allowed a scientist to kill people in thousands, regardless of who they were. Because of his cruelty, he received a place in Anenerbe, because only such a person could conduct experiments on children and women without the slightest twinge of conscience.

As a field laboratory, he was given the Auschwitz concentration camp. There were constantly about 10-13 thousand prisoners, who in the literal sense of the word were perceived as an expendable material. And it was Mengele who decided who would go to the gas chamber, and whom the fate is much worse ...

The origin of a terrible project

The project "Gemini" was one of the first developments of the German Angel of Death. Its essence was to use twins as a test. So, one became an "object" for experiments, and the second - a control group. In particular, that's why the project "Gemini" got its name, because in Latin the word "twins" sounds like gemini.

Some historians disagree with this name, because the Nazis did not like to use terminology taken from other languages in their works. But this does not negate the fact that similar experiments were conducted. According to the information received, no less than 3 thousand twins passed through the laboratory of Josef Mengele in five years. Alas, not more than two hundred remained alive, of which the majority are disabled.

Horror of Auschwitz

In the head of the cruel scientist there were many ideas aimed at improving the Aryan race. However, they all demanded experiments that were not only very cruel, but also often caused the death of the experimental.

For example, Mengele wanted to make sure that all Germans had blue eyes. Therefore, he developed all kinds of drugs that can change their color after birth. Test compositions he injected the twins to see which one is better. But all he could achieve is burning pain and blindness.

In addition, he often experimented with the transplantation of organs, parts of the body and skin. In his madness, he went so far as to start creating surgically Siamese twins. Such operations were very painful, so many died right on the table. The rest expected a worse fate, but in the end, death took them.

Because of this, historians consider the whole project "Gemini" anti-human, and its creator - a monster. Moreover, Mengele himself managed to escape punishment. After the collapse of the Nazi regime, he fled to Brazil, where he lived until February 1979, until he was struck by a stroke.

History Lessons

It's hard to say how much horror the Gemini project brought to the world. Is there an experiment like him now? I want to believe that no! People like Josef Mengele should be immediately isolated from society. No single good of the world can justify the sacrifices that such scientists can bring in the name of their science.
