New Ford Fusion: specifications and general description

On the public, the new Ford Fusion, the technical specifications of which are described below, debuted for the first time in 2012 during the Auto Show in Detroit. The exterior of the car resembles the conceptual model Evos, which was previously shown in Frankfurt. The design of the novelty can be called "original and aggressive," which is confirmed by the slightly darkened narrow headlights and grille, which is made in trapezoid form. Separate words in the new Ford Fusion deserve the technical characteristics of salon equipment. Already for the basic version of the car provides a touchscreen display on the front panel. On it there are even sensors that control the degree of fatigue of the driver, as well as blind areas while driving. In general, the list of on-board electronics in the car has become quite impressive and extensive.

It should be noted in the new Ford Fusion engine specifications. In particular, for the 2013 model year cars there are three modifications. The base version is a 2.5-liter "four", which is capable of developing a capacity of 170 "horses". The unit operates in pairs with an automatic gearbox for six gears. The two remaining variants are motors belonging to the Ecoboost family. The first of them has a volume of 1.6 liters and a capacity of 179 horsepower. The motor works in a complex with mechanics on six steps and consumes about nine liters for every hundred runs. The volume of the second unit is two liters, and the capacity is 273 "horses". The engine requires about 9.3 liters of gasoline for every hundred kilometers of the road.

For the Ford Fusion 2013 model year, there are also two hybrid units. At the heart of the first one, which is called the "Hybrid", is a two-liter petrol engine, functioning in conjunction with an electric motor. The total capacity of the plant is 185 "horses", and its fuel consumption is 5.1 liters per hundred kilometers. The second hybrid version is called "Energi" and requires for every "hundred" only 2.35 liters of gasoline. According to the representatives of the manufacturer, if the batteries are fully charged, the car can overcome a distance of 500 kilometers without additional recharging. This achievement makes the model a world leader in terms of fuel efficiency among all other medium-sized cars.

As you can see, the new Ford Fusion technical characteristics of the traffic are worthy. In addition to them, the designers paid a lot of attention to safety and comfort systems. Here everything is held at once on several key elements. The first of these is a system that monitors the position of the car in a row. In the event of a change in the ranks, the vibration on the steering wheel is activated and an audible signal sounds. If there is no response from the driver, the system returns the machine on its own. The next element is an intelligent cruise control, capable of independently slowing down the speed depending on the overall flow of the flow. The third system is designed to help you park by automatically calculating the trajectory and automatically controlling the rudder. The driver remains to press the gas or brake. The last but not least important element is the definition of other cars in the so-called "blind" zones. The program warns about the presence of other vehicles in the change of lanes with an audible and visual signal. As for the cost of the new Ford Fusion, the price of the car in the minimum set-up starts from the mark of 21.7 thousand US dollars.
