The status of the city was appropriated to him under Soviet power: in October 1967. In the late nineties the territory of Nazran increased. The city began to include several districts. But in 2009 their number was reduced to 4. The city of Nazran is interesting because it opened the first educational institution in Ingushetia. It was the Nazran High School. And at the turn of the 20th century, a regular railway communication was established with the city.

Just above the inscription is a special sign, symbolizing the fertility and hospitality of the surrounding lands.

In the city is located the so-called Gamurzievo hillfort. It was discovered during excavations. The city of Nazran was born from the construction of the fortress of the same name, but various objects of everyday life made it clear that in those parts people lived for hundreds of years before the construction of the fortress there. Some finds date back to the 3rd century BC. This means that people here lived 700 years before the Nazran fortress was built!

Unique places

On the outskirts of the city there is a very curious enterprise. Namely the factory of fish skin. They make a variety of subjects. Starting from clothes and accessories to paintings and other works of art. And all this is really made from the skin of fish! In fact, the workers of this factory make things out of waste, which usually go to the dump.

Naturally, any visitor should definitely visit the very place where the city originated. Now here are only the ruins of the former fortress. But they still keep the age-old history of the city. In any settlement there should be a museum of local lore. And the city of Nazran is not an exception to this rule. The local museum tells the history of the region and the whole republic. There you can learn about how the territory of the city developed, what happened there and when. An interesting fact is that the museum did not stop working even for a day, even during armed conflicts in Ingushetia.

Main buildings in the city

The population of Nazran likes to show off a tourist attraction, which is considered one of the most important in the whole republic. This is a memorial dedicated to the victims of political repression. It is called the "Nine Towers". In the complex there is also a museum. There you can learn about how the repression has affected the inhabitants of the republic. The complex was opened in the late nineties, namely in 1997. The appearance of the memorial is quite interesting. It represents nine towers, which are intertwined with barbed wire. They symbolize the peoples deported during the repressions.

Another interesting landmark of the city is the mausoleum of Borg-Kash. The uniqueness of the building is expressed in the fact that this is the only Muslim tomb in Russia. Unfortunately, she was often robbed. The last major looting took place in the XIX century, after the local rumor about the last treasure there is located. Now the inhabitants of the city are trying to maintain the tomb in good condition.

The main artery of the settlement is Bazorkina Avenue. It is there that the administration of Nazran is located.
