Mount Olkhovaya: description and photo

The nature of Primorsky Krai is surprisingly diverse, fabulously beautiful and mysterious. Once visiting these places, I want to return again to touch the riddles of the relict forests, breathe in the thick clear air and enjoy the view of pristine crystal water in the streams and lakes.

Especially attractive are such unique natural objects as mountains. The subject of this article is Mount Olkhovaya. About her, her special attraction for the tourist will be discussed in the publication.

Meet: Olkhovaya Mountain, Primorye Territory

Situated 270 kilometers from Vladivostok, this mountain is the only one in the region, at the top of which a mountain lake stretches on the plateau, small but surprisingly picturesque. Mount Olkhovaya, or, as it is also called, the Chinese one, is located in Partizansky district of Primorye, its height reaches 1,669 m. A rather convenient climb makes the mountain very attractive for visiting. The route of ascent is also developed. This is the Alekseevsky Range, which is the lateral spur of the Partizansky Range, which serves simultaneously as the watershed of the Partizanskaya and Kievki rivers.

The top of the Olkhovaya Mountain is a rocky platform, from which, on a cloudless day, an amazing view of the neighboring heights opens.

These are the mountains Cloud, towering at 1854 meters, Snowy - height 1682 meters, Sister (1671 meters), Bald (1560 meters), Black (1379 meters), Makarova (1366 meters) and others. As a sign of people's stay at the top of the mountain, a trigonometric point and a commemorative cross were erected.

Mountain lakes

At an altitude of 1600 meters on a mountain plateau is a lake - a shallow pond, framed by bushes of honeysuckle. It feeds on falling precipitation. Therefore, in the dry years the water level is significantly reduced. Old-timers insist that sometimes in the most severe droughts the lake dries up, but this happens extremely rarely. In the middle of summer the water warms up well, and you can swim in the lake. Transparent crystal water, the purest mountain air attract travelers.

In addition, the plateau is quite extensive, which allows you to comfortably settle on the shore, break up tents, spend time enjoying the primeval calm, and completely forget about the bustle of the city.

Water inhabitants

Fish in the lake is not found, but here you can see newts - a relict species of amphibian amphibian families of real salamanders. Having chosen a pond since ancient times, these animals have arranged their life in it, adjusting themselves to the features of the lake. A little higher there is another similar natural body of water, but it is so small that it dries up almost every year, although the newts have also become habitable.

But not only the unique reservoirs of the famous mountain Olkhovaya. Reviews of travelers who have visited these places, emphasize and a relatively convenient way to the top, and the opportunity to get acquainted with rare representatives of flora and fauna. Nature

Mount Olkhovaya (Primorsky Krai) is afforested, which makes the paved routes picturesque and bright. Here you will find thickets of magnolia vine - an amazing wood vine with clusters of purple berries.

Everyone at least once heard about the magic properties of this plant: magnolia vine, having a general excitement, can several times increase efficiency, and essential oils from it are extremely in demand in cosmetology. The eleutherococcus, a prickly shrub of the Araliev family, which has no less valuable medicinal qualities, grows near Mount Olkhova. The ornament of the mountain forests of Primorye is another representative of the endangered fauna - rhododendron. This is a decorative shrub of the heather family. Spring flowering of rhododendrons is an amazing sight, which you can see on the way to the top of Mount Olkhova. In addition, the forest is rich in cedar pine, larch, Manchurian nut, aralia, dog rose and wild grapes.

No less extensive is a group of rare herbaceous plants found in these localities. In the numerous glades among the thickets of badana and zamanihi ripen cranberries, blueberries and honeysuckle. On the slopes you can see the edelweiss - the legendary flower with delicate mauve inflorescences. And in the forest, you can meet with one of the rare plants, a venereal shoe, a herbaceous perennial and the most ancient land orchid.

Fauna

The fauna in the forests of Primorsky Krai is also diverse. So, on the way to the top, if you're lucky, you can notice the golden eagle hovering in the sky - a representative of the endangered species of eagles, listed in the Red Book of Russia.

On the forested mountain stream Alekseevka, which accompanies the route to the top of Olkhova, there are small ducks-mandarins - indigenous inhabitants of Primorye.

Mount Olkhovaya, Primorsky Krai: how to get from Vladivostok

The pedestrian route starts at the foot of the mountain, which can be accessed from different directions and in different versions. It's easier to use personal vehicles, but it's easy to get to the starting point of the route and on the public road.

For example, from Vladivostok, you can go on the morning electric train "Vladivostok-Nakhodka" and, having reached Partizansk, change to a bus or minibus through the village of Sergeevka. Get off at the bridge across the river. Alekseyevka is 7 kilometers from Sergeevka.

The same way can be done by bus with the message "Vladivostok-Lazo", every day departing from the city, and get to the bridge already mentioned. Note that the ticket will need to be taken to the village of Monakino.

On your own car follow the route: Vladivostok-Frolovka-Sergeevka-Alekseevka. The total length of the route will be about 240 km. For your information: the last filling station - in the direction to the village of Frolovka, and you can replenish the fuel supply only there.

Behind the bridge across the river. Alekseevka turn to the right and continue the way. The fork of the Alekseevka and Alekseevka rivers is a peculiar marker of the correct direction, which is 24 km from the turn, and a pedestrian route starts 4-6 km from the fork, that is, Olkhovaya Mountain itself. How to get back, you need to think right away.

This is especially true if tourists do not come by their own transport. It should be agreed with the taxi driver about the arrival to the launch site on the day of departure, since the last electric train from Partizansk leaves at about 6 pm, and it is necessary to calculate the time to catch it.

How to get from Nakhodka

From Nakhodka all the way to the foot of the mountain will take no more than two hours. You can get there by car to the village of Sergeevka, turning onto a fairly solid dirt road just outside the village. The landmark is also the bridge across the river. Alekseyevka. Primer, as we have already noted, is in good condition, the path takes 40-50 minutes.

Variants of routes to the top

You can start a pedestrian crossing immediately from the bridge, turning on the dirt road and reaching the foot on foot.

The climb usually takes about 4-5 hours. The length of the pedestrian route is about 12 km (6 km to the top and back). The route lies along the Alekseevka river and the Olkhovy key. You can climb up the ridge. It is impossible to make a mistake in the road, any path will lead to a plateau with a mountain lake under the summit.

To carry out the ascent to Olkhovaya it is possible and through the Immalinovskaya (Turning) pad along the Povorotnaya River. This way is a little shorter, it is about 10 km. Removal Immalinovsky is unusually beautiful and represents a unique corner of the real wild nature of the Primorye Territory.

When descending from the top of the mountain in the south-west direction, travelers come to a picturesque key framed by small rocks and forming miniature waterfalls.

Tourist excursions and hikes

Mount Olkhovaya - an excellent place for outdoor activities. You can come here alone, with a group of friends or make an ascension as part of an organized tour. As a rule, the time of the excursion is 15-16 hours. Departure is made from Nakhodka in the early morning, the price of the ticket is 2300 rubles, which includes the cost of delivery by bus, the conductor's guide, insurance component and food. Return to the city at 22:00.

However, there are many variants of campaigns. Experienced tourists prefer not one-day hikes, but a longer stay with stops and overnight stays in a tent camp. Mount Olkhovaya is generous for pleasant meetings and unforgettable impressions.
