"Monastic hut" - a cake easy to prepare, very spectacular and stunningly delicious! It is also called "Soty", "Shalash", "Pile". This magnificent dessert is prepared from honey, sand or puff pastry. This cake looks like a hut of logs, or rather like a real monastic hut! The cake is laid out with logs, which in the dessert are thin rolls of dough stuffed with cherries. The logs are fastened with cream - creamy with condensed milk, sour cream or custard. There are many options!

Fillings, by the way, can also be varied - fresh or canned cherries, fresh raspberries, blackberries, any jam or jam, prunes. Fruit filling gives a piquant sourness to this sweet and juicy cake, so it does not get sugary. If you cook a cake with a puff pastry, you can save a lot of time, and this in no way will affect the taste of this magnificent dessert.

Cake "Monastic Cottage" with custard, a traditional recipe

For the test, you will need:

- Wheat flour - four glasses;

- sour cream shop - glass;

- sugar - two tablespoons;

- butter or margarine - 250 g;

- salt - a small pinch.

For the filling, any fruits covered with sugar or from jam are suitable.

For the cream you need:

- milk - one glass;

- sugar - half a cup;

- Yolk of one egg;

- flour - half a tablespoon;

- starch - 0.5 tablespoon;

- butter - 100 g.

Prepare the dough first. Mix the flour with sour cream and sugar, throw a pinch of salt. Then in the flour cut a little softened butter with small cubes and start chopping the dough. We do this with a wide knife until the butter mixes with the flour. Then we start to knead by hand. When the dough is mixed, it must be put in the refrigerator for two hours.

At this time, prepare the filling and make a cream. Cherry (if fresh), wash, remove the bones and add sugar. If the jam - just get the berries from the syrup, put in a separate bowl. Now prepare the custard. To do this, we will pour a small amount of milk into a separate container and dilute the starch with flour in it, so that there are no lumps. The remainder of the milk is taken up with the egg yolk and sugar. Put it on the stove and, stirring, bring to a boil. When the mixture boils, add milk with flour and starch. We will cook on low heat, constantly stirring until the cream begins to thicken. Then set aside the saucepan to cool. When the cream becomes cool, start whipping it, gradually, literally on a teaspoon, adding butter. When the mass becomes uniform, we put it in the refrigerator.

In two hours we will take out the dough and place it on the table, sprinkled with flour. Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces. Candied cherry juice from juice or cherry jam. Take the first piece of dough, roll out the square with sides about 30 cm. The dough should be rolled very thin, about 2 mm thick. Let's cut a square into 5 equal bands. For each strip we put cherries in a row, wrap the tubes, tearing the dough on top. Five ready-made tubes are laid on a baking sheet, sprinkled with flour. The same thing we do with the rest of the test. Bake the tubes at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes. It is necessary to look, that the tubes have acquired a uniform golden hue.

As a result, 15 tubes filled with cherries should turn out, from which our "Monastery Hut" will turn out. The cake will be laid on a large beautiful dish. On the bottom row of the "logs" we choose the thickest and crusty tubules. We put five together. Copiously cover with a custard. On top put the four tubes, again cover with cream, then three - and cream, two - and cream and on top one - and cream. You can decorate with grated chocolate.

This recipe is much simpler and easier to prepare than the previous one, but the taste is no worse.

- puff pastry shop - two packages;

- cherry from jam - a can of 0,7 g;

- sour cream shop - a pound;

- powdered sugar - one tablespoon.

We make 15 identical strips of melted dough, put the cherry into the dough. Put it in the oven. We will bake at 200 ° C until golden brown. While the logs are baked, mix sour cream and powdered sugar. On the tray, add the ready cooled tubing in the form of a hut, dipping them in sour cream. We put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
