Methods of conducting, indications and contraindications to blood ultraviolet radiation

Ultraviolet irradiation of blood refers to methods of extracorporeal detoxification. It is also called photogemotherapy or abbreviated as UFO blood. It is a dosed out irradiation of the blood with ultraviolet rays.

Irradiation of the human body with ultraviolet has been applied for a long time. In clinical practice, UFO blood tests are used for various skin, surgical infections and other diseases.

The main problem of this method is insufficient clinical study of ultraviolet effect on the human body. The popularity and prevalence of the method is based solely on the experience of its application.

Ultraviolet irradiation has the following therapeutic effects:

- bactericidal (antiseptic) action;

- anti-inflammatory effect;

- correction of humoral and cellular immunity;

- acceleration of regeneration (healing) of tissues;

Vasodilator action;

- improvement of the acid-base state of the blood;

- erythropoiesis (stimulation of erythrocyte formation);

- desensitizing (antiallergic) effect;

- normalization of antioxidant and proteolytic activity of blood;

Detoxification action.

Methods of conducting blood ultraviolet radiation

There are two ways of irradiating blood - extravascular and intravascular.

Photogemotherapy is performed in a specially equipped room, close to the surgical box (operating room). The patient is placed on the couch in the supine position on the back. The needle punctures the vein of the upper limb. Intravascular irradiation is carried out by inserting a light guide into the vessel through the needle cavity. Extracorporeal, i.e. Extravascular irradiation occurs by passing the previously taken blood through a quartz cuvette with heparin. After the blood is irradiated, it returns to the bloodstream. The session lasts 45-55 minutes. To achieve a therapeutic effect, prescribe 6-10 courses of UFO blood.

Before the UFO session

In special preparation the patient does not need. Only it is necessary to make the general analysis of a blood and in some cases biochemical, a coagulogram (a condition of coagulation of a blood). On the day of the procedure, a full meal with sufficient sweetness before the procedure, as well as after it and throughout the day, is necessary.

Indications for phototherapy:

Poisoning and purification of blood from alcohol;

- inflammatory processes of various genesis and localization;

- Thrombophlebitis;

- autoimmune diseases;

- septic states;

- postoperative infections;

- bronchial asthma;

- pancreatitis;

- skin diseases: acne, furunculosis, psoriasis, dermatoses of various origins;

- diabetes;

- trophic skin ulcers;

- polycystic ovary;

- Viral hepatitis ;

Herpes;

- burns;

- stomach ulcer;

- diseases of the ENT organs;

- Urinary system diseases: pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis;

Contraindications:

- Violation of the blood coagulation system;

- prolonged bleeding;

- ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke;

- increased sensitivity to solar radiation;

- malignant neoplasms;

- epilepsy;

- active tuberculosis, AIDS (HIV).

Possible complications

If the procedure is carried out according to recommendations, serious complications should not occur. In rare cases, there are photo-allergic reactions.

There are no age limits for conducting UFD blood. The patients' comments to which the irradiation session was conducted are ambiguous. Some people note an improvement in their state of health, while others did not see a significant effect on them.
