Mesh reinforcement: what is it, and what are they used for?

Until recently, for the reinforcement of foundations used almost scrap metal, which successfully fell into the hands of builders. Today, few people use such "savage" methods, because the industry offers a huge amount of building materials, where as more suitable for such purposes. Such are the reinforcing mesh, which at one time made almost a revolution in the construction industry.

They are made of special wire or even from reinforcement. In the case of rods, they are connected by spot welding directly to the object under construction. This is done in the case when industrial reinforcement mesh is not suitable for reliability requirements.

How and where they are used

Most often they are used to strengthen the foundations of buildings and walls. In general, to improve the technical characteristics of the construction without the use of various reinforcing agents, you will not be able to manage in any case. Not only masonry, but also the road and even the runway of the airfield will become stronger, if at its installation the builders used reinforcing mesh.

Moreover, they are simply irreplaceable when performing so-called "heavy" clutches, when a wall is erected not from brick, but from marble, granite or similar materials. In addition, without the nets it will not be possible to make the lining of the house with the help of natural or artificial facing stone. However, they are also used for not so epic needs: the same truck farmers and gardeners have long adapted to apply reinforcing mesh for carcasses to greenhouses and greenhouses.

For the production of nets, reinforcing wire of categories AIII and AI is used, the diameter of which is 6-12 mm. Often, they are used when the construction of particularly complex and critical sites of reinforced concrete is under way. Do not think that the reinforcing base is put "anyhow".

Typically, in such cases, a draft framework is being compiled, and for its development, nowadays the most complicated 3D modeling programs are being applied. In particular, the same reinforcement mesh 100x100 can be included in the structure on the basis of drawings, which were previously provided by the customer of the construction.

However, immediately it is worth mentioning that the finished skeletons are much cheaper, and the construction with their use is more expedient from the economic point of view. Therefore, for most of the buildings, standard projects have been developed for a long time, which allow to significantly reduce costs. As a rule, all their sizes are regulated by GOST. Reinforcing grids in the west for this purpose, and do produce robotic production lines that perform the welding of frames in automatic mode.

If you still have not dealt with the choice of such products, it will be extremely easy to make a mistake. Unfortunately, the psychology of our sellers remains unchanged: it is often possible to meet reinforcing meshes, spot welding which is done in a chaotic order, and even completely "through one". It is not necessary to consider that in concrete it is possible to shove something horrible: in the best case, a defective mesh can reduce the structural strength by 15-20%.
