Mechanical engineer - a scarce profession in the labor market!

Today, the profession of mechanical engineer is quite widespread in the labor market . Despite the annual release of engineers from universities, it is very difficult to find a qualified and competent specialist.

Why is there such a shortage of specialists? Each organization needs experienced and competent specialists not only on paper, but also in practice. But the fact is that most mechanical engineers, who have a lot of experience on paper, actually have insufficient level of practical knowledge. This is the fault of employers who impose additional duties on engineers (inventory accounting, the conclusion of contracts for the supply of equipment, etc.). Instead of fulfilling these duties, a mechanical engineer could do his own work. The duties of a mechanical engineer include:

  1. Ensuring the optimal state of equipment.
  2. Monitoring the operation of equipment.
  3. Reception of equipment and its installation.
  4. Technical inspection and diagnostics of equipment.
  5. Development of equipment repair schedules.
  6. Control over the serviceability of parts in the equipment, purchase and replacement of spare parts.
  7. Participation in matters that improve the operation of equipment and increase the service life.
  8. Writing off old equipment and putting into operation a new one.
  9. Maintenance of documentation related to production equipment.

This is the minimum amount of work that a mechanical engineer must perform without additional work. And if he does it, then, accordingly, to fulfill his job duties, he has less time. But this is not the only reason for the shortage of specialists. Most graduates of universities do not continue the business started at the university and go into the sphere of commerce. This is due to the fact that jobs in the specialty are occupied by pensioners.

Now let's see what skills a person should have in order to boldly claim the post of a "mechanical engineer"? A graduate of a university or a person already working for this profession must possess a sufficient level of theoretical knowledge, know the mechanics of industrial equipment, know the rules and regulations for the development of design and technical documentation, be able to work in special programs (Compass and AutoCAD).

Now let's figure out where to look for a job as a mechanical engineer? In most cases, the basic need for specialists in this profession is observed in factories of various orientations (mechanical engineering, oil, construction, etc.). Any enterprise that provides communication with equipment. For a good specialist there is work. A mechanical engineer is a profession that is in high demand in the industrial sector.

The level of wages still depends on regional disposition. In the Moscow region salaries are higher than in Chelyabinsk or any other.
