Light subway in the suburbs. Light subway construction

The light metro is located at an intermediate position between the usual metro station, to which everyone has long been accustomed, and light rail transport systems. Like the classic metro, it is completely isolated from street transport. A light metro in the suburbs appeared about 12 years ago, when the Butovskaya Line was built, which at one time successfully connected the final section of the Kaluga-Riga line with South Butovo.

What are the main differences?

The light metro line, as a rule, is built on the surface or is located on special overpasses. For convenience, interchange nodes in large cities are arranged in tunnel sections. Compositions of the light subway include a small number of cars (two to five). Light subway stations are of a shorter length and are located in the open air.

Despite the high cost, this transport system costs 4-5 times cheaper than the classical version. That is why the light metro in the suburbs is the most promising direction for solving transport problems in the capital region.

Nearest plans

According to the governor of the Moscow region, the issue of creating a light metro in the Moscow region will soon have to enter a new stage of development. Taking into account the huge strategic importance, the design work for the new branch can be carried out during the current year.

It will not be so easy to make it into reality. To date, the construction of new lines only in terms of developing a common scheme and concept requires an investment of 150 million rubles.

Why is this necessary?

Where will this grandiose transport project be implemented? The thing is that the construction of a light subway in a short period has moved from the sphere of rather vague perspective directions of development of the Moscow region transport to the zone of real projects. The Moscow region is already so stuck in endless traffic jams that the need for organizing new types of urban transport has become very obvious.

It is necessary to ensure the possibility of guaranteed and unhindered movement between different settlements of the Moscow region for a strictly normalized period of time. With this task can cope only with the light metro in the suburbs. Any inhabitant of Moscow and the region is well aware of the endless lines of cars and buses, which in the mornings, like a river stream, continuously move towards the capital. Towards evening the direction is reversed. And everything, it would seem, is good, but only until the slightest failure occurs. Then this stormy river instantly turns into a standing swamp, which can not be left off until it does not come into motion. As a result, much more time is expended on the road than originally planned, plus a spoiled mood and unrealized opportunities.

How do they move within the Moscow region at the moment?

Specialists in the field of transport have long paid attention to the peculiarities of passenger traffic on the Moscow ring road. It turned out that about 40% of cars use this route for the purpose of traveling between settlements located in the Moscow suburbs.

Alternative options for establishing a normal transport message simply do not exist. The scheme of the light metro will be built in such a way that the existing shortcoming will be fully replenished. Any transport system must ensure a balance between urban public transport and personal. In other words, every citizen should have the right to choose: use a private car today or go on business on the subway.

What is planned to build in the near future?

The light metro lines will run parallel to the existing railway lines and thus complement the ground rail infrastructure. By and large, they have nothing to do with the metro. The first step is to build a light metro line to Khimki (via the left bank). Light subway will come to Odintsovo through Nemchinovka. Further in the plans - to get to Zheleznodorozhny and Pushkino.

All Moscow airports, according to long-term plans, should be connected by new transport lines. The train interval will be no more than 7 minutes (with a reduction in peak hours to 4 minutes).

The geography of Moscow cities, where new transport will be available, is very diverse. This is where the light metro will be available: Balashikha, Reutov, Mytischi, Krasnogorsk, Vidnoe. In addition to the already mentioned settlements, the final stops are planned in Kryukovo, Lyubertsy, Domodedovo, Podolsk, Nakhabino, Sheremetyevskaya.

At the current moment the situation is such that freight trains are forced to get along on some railway lines with passenger trains, commuter trains and Aeroexpresses. The implementation of the light metro project will allow to divide these traffic flows. The task is to ensure that any passenger is not tied to any schedule. Arriving at the station at any time, he must be one hundred percent sure that the duration of the train waiting in the direction of Moscow will not exceed 6-7 minutes.

Along with the large-scale project, which is planned to be implemented in the Moscow region, the construction of small transport systems for high-speed transport is planned in some territories. Such sections include the Shcherbinka-Bobrovo-Drozhino-Rastorguevo line, where the population rapidly reaches 145,000 people. To achieve the maximum reduction of the load on the local road system, it was decided to organize the construction of an extra-high-speed high-speed transport system.

Long-term perspective

Ideally, a light metro should act as an effective integrator of the transport system of the entire Moscow region in the transport system of the capital. The ultimate goal of this project should be the construction of so-called chord lines, which should gradually close into a giant railway ring and cover the entire Moscow region. By such a transport line it will be easy to get from Domodedovo to Odintsovo or Ramenskoye.

In what form the project "Light metro - Moscow and the Moscow region" will be realized, they do not yet know for certain. Considering that in Russia the railways are adapted for any type of transport, in the future we can see both a monorail, a railway, and a speedy extra-street tram.

Will it be so simple?

The construction of light metro lines draws a fairly large-scale transformation in the layout of the highway and urban infrastructure. At least, it will be necessary to reconstruct up to 30 pedestrian crossings and about the same to build from scratch. This is necessary to solve the issue of safe movement of pedestrians through the railway track.

Next, you need to think about the fight against the noise that trains issue. Noise isolation of transport lines will be one of the primary tasks, as moving compounds create an additional noise load on city streets.

Probably, one can not do without the construction of new road junctions or moving them to new places. In some areas, it may be simple enough to modernize. In most cases, the urban landscape will change noticeably.

In short, such a large-scale construction generates a lot of overhead costs, which largely affects the timing and the total cost of construction work.

Some information in figures

As a result, the new transportation system will have a total length of lines of at least 200 km. 48 new stations are to be built. To equip the lines of the new metro, it will be necessary to build at least 57 new overpasses. To ensure convenient transfers to suburban trains and to the ordinary metro, it is planned to build more than 200 intercepting parking lots that will accommodate up to 80,000 cars. The number of trains running on new lines will be at least 120.

The cost of implementing the program for the construction of a light metro will be more than 230 billion rubles. The financing will be implemented by RZD jointly with the federal and regional budgets. The implementation of the light metro project will almost double the passenger traffic, by 2020 it will be at least 1 billion people.

More about new projects

The project of the high-speed transport system "Strela" was developed. Its task is to connect the Khimki residential area with the Planernaya metro station. The length of this high-speed line is 7.2 km.

Who will implement the plan?

The authorities of the region have already received agreement on cooperation from a number of well-known companies. Officially, Siemens was already interested in this idea. This company has a great experience and established practice in the field of consultations on the organization of modern transport systems, construction of railway lines, infrastructure facilities and the creation of rolling stock. But the light metro in the Moscow region is also open to Russian producers, who will certainly become participants in a grandiose project. It does not matter whether they cooperate with foreign companies or act independently. The authorities of the region are paying special attention to the creation of the necessary production facilities in the Moscow Region, capable of mastering the production of modern rolling stock for a new transportation project.

How realistic is it?

By and large, when deciding to organize an almost new type of transport system, the Moscow authorities are waving to rather serious heights. At the same time, the new, as usual, already reaches out to the old one. For the population of the Moscow region, the solution of the transport problem by any methods will be a joy, as during peak hours passenger traffic increases to such a level that commuter trains simply "pop".

What will be the fate of these grandiose plans is unknown. Will the dreams come true ordinary passengers? Will a light metro come to Odintsovo or Ramenskoye? Or maybe this will again be some kind of high-speed tram? After all, in its time, much was said about this type of transport in the direction of Balashikha. The length of the route, the expected stops, and the cost of the construction work were also called, but in the end everything was in its original state.
