Let us recall once read: "Scarlet Sails" (summary)

Alexander Green is a man of a very difficult, harsh fate, but with a surprisingly bright and kind creative imagination. The heroes and fantastic countries created by him are carried away by rebellious romance, energy of good, courage, external and internal beauty. An example of this - his amazing story-extravaganza "Scarlet Sails".

Let us recall the reading

The story "Scarlet Sails", the brief content of which we now recall, was written a little less than a hundred years ago, in 1922-th year. However, until now the work is perceived as a hymn to kind and vivid feelings, belief in oneself and its dream, in light, love and happiness, justice and hope. And the main image of the work - a ship with scarlet, like dawn, sails, - personifies the youth of the soul and heart, the poetry of romance, beautiful feelings, the obligatory embodiment of a miracle.

To your attention - "Scarlet Sails": a short content of the story, the text of which takes us to the invented by the author Kapernu - a small fishing village on the beach. There live strong, harsh people, whose life and work are connected with constant risk, struggle with the wayward sea element.

They are poor, but proud and strong in spirit, like Longren, a sailor, most of his time forced to plow the water spaces to earn a living for himself and his beloved wife Mary, as well as their only precious treasure - baby Assol.

No matter how joyless the existence of Longren, no matter how heavy his seafood bread, he is happy, thanks to the family, and does not want a different fate. But fate is rarely supportive of the poor. While the husband is away, Mary is left without a penny, she has nothing to feed her daughter. She is trying to borrow a couple of cents from a local shopkeeper, Menners. And he, taking advantage of the hopeless situation of the unfortunate woman, offers her a deal: money in exchange for love.

Mary refuses. Hoping to lay the last valuable thing - his wedding ring, - the poor girl goes to the city, on the way gets in the rain, falls ill and literally in a couple of days goes to the grave.

"Scarlet Sails", the brief content of the story can not bypass this moment by the side, because it is the cause of the tragedy of Longren and the source of many of the childish sorrows and sorrows of his daughter. When the sailor returns, in the house he is greeted by a compassionate neighbor and a tiny Assol.

Serious days have come for the sailor-wretch. He abandoned his fishing, left the team, refused the help of a neighbor and finally "dropped anchor" in his dilapidated house, completely devoting himself to his daughter.

Not only the whole "Scarlet Sails" - a brief description can even tell what became Assol for the tortured soul of an aged old sailor. He himself sewed her a dress, told amazing stories from her adventurous life, and the girl idolized her father and absorbed every word with grateful attention. Two lonely, suffering hearts have found each other and have become the most reliable and reliable support to one another.

A few years after the events, Menners died: he was blown to the raging sea. Longren saw everything - more than that, the shopkeeper asked for help. In response, the sailor reminded him of the story with Mary - she, too, was praying for help. So the shopkeeper paid for his former meanness. But in the village of Longren no one understood and did not support. They looked at him, did not talk to him, he shied away when a man went to the zucchini to miss a glass of ale in the evening. And the children, after listening to adults, drove Assol out of their companies, offended and teased. So gradually her own dreams and fantasies became the consolation of the girl. And also - wonderful toys made of wood - models of ships, boats, sailboats (which Longren did for sale). When the girl grew up, she, helping her father, took them to the city, to a toy store. Once, having set off with a ship with scarlet sails, Assol met old Egle, a collector of fairy tales and legends. Looking closely at the girl, he foretold her an amazing fate. In Assol's eyes, he read persevering faith in the Miracle, waiting for him. And he told her that one day, when she grows up, from the faraway countries, she will be sailed by the same ship under scarlet sails. A kind, noble prince will make her his wife and take him far, far away, to a country where there are no tears and sorrows, where cheerful music sounds, and people sing wonderful songs, where everyone has open, affable hearts, and no one holds a stone in his bosom.

"Scarlet Sails" is a story about the greatness and beauty of the human soul, but also about the meanness of some people.

The second story line relates us to an old noble estate, the patrimonial nest of the aristocrats of the Grays. Each of the representatives of the clan had to bear on their shoulders a heavy burden of responsibility to the ancestors and descendants. But Arthur's soul, lively, purposeful, devoid of caste bonds and prejudices, hotly protests against the fate that is destined for the boy. He is independent, willful and wants to create his own life. He has a kind, sincere heart. And the picture of the ship, making its way through the storm to its native shores, captivates his imagination. Because after another encounter with the home Arthur leaves his father's house. Then his fate is to fight against himself, with his aristocratic effeminacy and physical weakness. Eventually, having overcome many difficulties, Gray becomes captain of the same ship, which he dreamed of, while contemplating a picture in the castle.

It is clear that the story "Scarlet Sails" ends happily. Arthur Gray is the same prince who was granted Assol as a reward for believing in love, fairy tale and purity of thoughts. And for Gray Assol - the most guiding star that will one day lead to happiness.

The heroes were worthy of each other, and scarlet sails blossomed over them, carrying on the sea waves and tailwinds to other horizons.
