Latvian midfielder Alexander Tsaunya

Alexander Tsaunya is a Latvian football player who is currently playing for CSKA Moscow. This year he turned 28, but the recession began two years ago. Alexander Tsaunya plays in the position of the defensive midfielder, but can also move to the left - to the position of the left defender or the left midfielder.

Carier start

Alexander Tsaunya was born on January 19, 1988 in Latvia in the city of Daugavpils and from seven years he was engaged in football in the local Sports School. In 2002, a 14-year-old guy went through a viewing in one of the largest clubs in the country "Skonto", the academy of which he moved. There he continued his studies until 2006, and when he was 18 years old, Skonto offered him a professional contract. So Alexander Tsowna became a professional football player.

Club career

Cauņa spent the first half of his debut season in "Skonto", playing 12 games and scoring one goal. After that, he was leased to "Olympus", where he had to gain experience - after returning, the young talent went 11 times on the field for "Skonto" and scored two goals. Already next year he became a regular base player - in the season of 2007 he entered the field 26 times, and in the 2008 season - 24 times. In total for these 50 matches he scored six goals.

At the beginning of the 2009 season, Caunya was rented by the English "Watford", where for half a year he played five matches and scored one goal. Later in the summer he was seen by another English club, Blackpool, to buy it on a regular basis, but the player did not fit the English, so he returned to Latvia, where he continued his performances for Skonto. For the rest of the season he went on the field 13 times, scoring four goals. Having played 13 more games for "Skonto", Tsaunya moved to Moscow CSKA Moscow - first on loan, and then on an ongoing basis.

The first two seasons he had brilliant - he played 57 games and scored five goals. However, after that, they began to pursue injuries, which practically put an end to the career of such a player as Alexander Tsaunya. "CSKA" did not need any more in such an attacking midfielder. Over the next three years, he played 26 games - largely due to his versatility, because his position was occupied by stronger partners, so he retrained in the defensive midfielder and began to close if necessary holes on the flank. This season, he has not played a single match, and although his contract with the club was extended a year ago, he is unlikely to stay here for long.

Career in the national team

For the national team of Latvia, Cauņa played 45 games in his career, in which he scored 12 goals. He made his debut for the national team in June 2007, coming on as a substitute for one minute in a match against the Spanish national team. And the last match to date, he held in October 2015, where the Latvian team played with the national team of Kazakhstan.
