One of the varieties of wood fungi is the varnished tinder, which has been popular for many thousands of years in folk medicine due to its medicinal properties.

Description

Representatives of this species of fungi are found mainly on dead wood of deciduous trees. Often they can be found on old stumps near the surface of the soil.
