Kremenchug plant KrAZ during its existence has experienced much - the war, the endless reorganization of the machine-building industry, crises, the reorganization of leadership. Even the birth dates of this company are two. To stay afloat the plant was possible, including in the difficult 90-ies. Today, KrAZ is one of the largest productions of the automotive industry in Ukraine.

History of the KrAZ plant: the enterprise in the 30-40's. last century

The location of the new enterprise was chosen a small city of Kremenchug Poltava region. Initially, the plant was designed for the production of sophisticated aircraft. Production of bridges

After the war the profile of the future enterprise was decided to change. Destroyed country, among other things, it was necessary to restore and many of the bridges that were blown up during the fighting. The first flight products of the new Kremenchug enterprise was produced already in 1948. The following eight years the KrAZ plant specialized only in the production of bridges. Over this time, more than six hundred such structures were built here, the total length of which was 27 km.

Combines

Over time, the country began to gradually recover, and the priority was to raise the level of agriculture. In 1956, the Kremenchug plant again decided to re-profile. This time the enterprise was transferred to the Ministry of Agricultural and Tractor Machinery. Since that time the KrAZ plant (Ukraine) has started to produce harvesters for harvesting corn. And although this culture was not particularly popular in the country and was soon almost completely forgotten, the enterprise managed to supply farms with more than 11 thousand units of such equipment.

In addition to harvesters, the plant in those years also produced sinkers, rollers, tractor wheels and road rollers.

First cars

The next turning point in the history of the company, in fact, was his second birth, was 1958. It was then the leadership of the USSR decided to move to Kremenchug capacities of the Yaroslavl Automobile Plant. Thus, the company survived yet another, this time the last, reconstruction and switched to the production of heavy three-axle trucks. Yaroslavl plant was also redesigned for the manufacture of power units.

The first Dnepr-222 vehicle came off the assembly line in 1959. It was a ten-ton dump truck with a two-stroke engine produced by the Yaroslavl plant. The design of this powerful engine was developed by engineers based on the YaAZ-214 and 219. The name "Dnepr" was subsequently decided not to save the car. The dump trucks produced in Kremenchug received the traditional Soviet marking, ending with "AZ".

Machines for export

In the 1960s and beyond, the Kremenchug plant was engaged in the production of only KrAZ heavy trucks. In 1960, the equipment produced at this enterprise was first exported. At this time, the factory began to collect, including the modification of trucks, designed for work in tropical regions. The competition in the Western markets was already quite high at that time. Having missed something, you could lose customers for many years. However, this, fortunately, did not happen. The trucks produced by the Kremenchuk plant began to enjoy great popularity in many countries. They were delivered, for example, to China, India, Afghanistan, Argentina. Modernization of trucks

AvtoKrAZ

In order to increase the number of trucks produced in 1976, the government of the USSR decided to establish a production association "AvtoKrAZ". In addition to the Kremenchug plant, it included several more giants of the machine-building industry of the country. Such a reorganization in the future really brought its fruits and allowed to significantly increase the production of trucks in the country. Together with Kremenchug, the association included factories:

In 1996, AvtoKrAZ was reorganized into a holding company. In 1999, it was purchased by the joint Ukrainian-German enterprise Mega-Motors. In 2002, on the basis of the holding, the Trading House of HC "AvtoKraz" was established. At the moment the holding is registered as a public company.

The volume of production in the 90s at the plant, of course, significantly decreased. For a long time the enterprise did not work at full capacity. However, at the beginning of the millennium the situation at the plant began to gradually stabilize. At present, work in Kremenchuk is boiling, and the enterprise uses the majority of its capacities. Trucks are currently produced in a variety of modifications. For example, only in the first half of 2016, the company's sales amounted to 618 million hryvnia. In 2017, the plant plans to produce at least 1,200 cars. Of course, in comparison with Soviet times, this figure is not particularly large. For example, in 1986, 30655 cars came off the assembly line of the plant. However, the pace of production at the plant continues to grow.

In which areas of the national economy is used the products of the enterprise

The main products produced by PJSC AvtoKrAZ today are dump trucks. It is this type of heavy equipment that is most in demand today in the national economy of Ukraine and most other countries. Also the enterprise produces:

• Onboard cars;

• Truck tractors;

• chassis;

• Log sorters and timber trucks;

• Road tankers;

• Tankers.
