Kinds of guitars and their basic features

Different types of guitars have a different device and, accordingly, a different sound. Old samples were gradually modified. Kinds of guitars also changed.

The very first guitar appeared classical. Especially popular it became in the XIX century and continues to enjoy the greatest demand today. For the first time this tool appeared in Latin America (then it was ideally suited for the performance of the national flamenco). The body of the guitar was made from cypress plates, so its weight was insignificant. Now the masters do not use this method, preferring strong types of wood.

A classical guitar usually has a wide neck and, as a rule, nylon strings. To the majority of classical guitars metal strings (but not always) are suitable. The technique of the game is finger. Such guitars are preferred by bards.

But various kinds of acoustic guitars have spread only in the XX century. The body (drum) they have more than the classical, the neck is narrower, and the strings are set only by metal ones. The sound is bright, saturated, powerful. Even more intensifies his mediator.

Nonclassical types of acoustic guitars are very suitable for combat, solo parts, rock, country, blues.

Some types of guitars are usually called hybrid (electro acoustic guitars). They have a built-in piezo pickup and can be connected to an amplifier. In addition to the sensor, they have an equalizer and tuner built in, which allows you to tune the instrument. Ideal for live performances.

A semi-acoustic instrument can be called a hybrid of an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar. A fairly large deck should amplify the sound, however a reduced resonator hole prevents this. The sound is well revealed when the amplifier is connected and the mediator is used. Such species are preferred by jazzmen.

A characteristic feature of twelve-stringed guitars is the arrangement of 2 strings (6 pairs). The tree for these guitars is chosen to be as strong as the tension of 12 strings "weak" tree simply can not stand. That is why the "twelve-string" is quite massive and heavy.

They are well suited for combat (it is rather problematic to go overboard). The idea of sound can be obtained by comparing conventional photos and HDR photos. When more than one photo is applied, a more saturated picture is obtained (in our case, a more extended range).

The main difference between these types of bass guitars is electronics, so pickups are called p ("step") and j by the first letters in the name of these types.
