More and more amateur gardeners are paying attention to the design of their site, creating amazing landscapes. Especially good in this respect are plants that are evergreen, retaining their decorative qualities even in cold seasons.

More and more popular are a variety of coniferous ornamental plants, including juniper Lime Glow. Any gardener, who loves and is proud of the design of his site, will sooner or later acquire this beautiful original bush, because it looks great both in group plantings and in solitary ones. This is a very effective plant.

Lime Glow (horizontal) - a beautiful creeping dwarf shrub, which has unusual needles, which has a rather pleasant yellow color.

It is a spreading form, a slowly growing plant. The shoots of the bush are radiant, forming a small depression in the center of the bush. The branches are horizontally lying.

Very small needles, usually having a golden yellow color, become reddish-bronze in autumn, and in the shade, on the contrary, it turns green.

The crown of the plant is rather dense, sprawling, symmetrical, dense and creeping. The growth of this slowly growing plant for the year is about 8-10 millimeters, and for the entire period of its growth - up to about 40 centimeters. Its greatest width is 150 centimeters.

The grayish-brown bark of the bush is smooth, but cracked on very thin plates. The roots are superficial and abundantly branched. Berries and cones do not have this plant. Not sensitive to spring burns needles small (from 10 mm to 20 mm), evergreen, soft, scaly.

The original juniper of Lime Glow is especially beautiful and spectacular among the deciduous and coniferous plants of blue, green and red.

The durability of this grade of horizontal juniper is from 30 to 50 years.

Growth conditions

The frost resistance and winter hardiness of the juniper Lime Glou is very high - from -26,1 deg. Down to -23.3.

Gardener should remember that in order to achieve the brightest saturated color, it should be planted in well-lit areas. Prefers juniper Lime Glou fresh and most moist loamy soils (can grow both on alkaline and acidic soils).

And to the moisture the attitude of the plant is not very demanding. Only in the hot season of the year does Lime Glow need more frequent watering.

Despite its unpretentiousness, juniper, like other plants, responds well to the complex mineral fertilizers introduced into the soil and to shallow (after irrigation) loosening of the soil.

Features

Juniper Lime Glow horizontal has some important features:

- the variety is famous for its ability to keep a dense, dense crown for a fairly long time, not decreasing with age;

- well tolerates pruning;

- propagates by cuttings;

- easily adaptable after transplantation;

- does not suffer from lack of humidity (unlike most of the creeping similar golden varieties);

- grows well in the city.

Conclusion

The native land of the plant is the USA (North Carolina), where it became widespread in the arboretum of the State University since 1985 (not officially).

This juniper variety for shrub groups suits perfectly as a good color accent. Planting is recommended on the slopes, terraces, as a cover plant, and also it is good in planting a kadochno-pottery plant. Juniper Lime Glow is an excellent example of a decorative dwarf shrub.
