Feeder assemblies. Catching on the feeder

Fishing with the use of feed gear is one of the most effective types of fishing. The English, who came up with this unique donka, thought it all out: special rods, replaceable tops, and feeder assemblies with feeders. Today, according to the catchability, the feeder surpasses all such known fishing devices.

Most of its merit feeder gear received thanks to special rigs that make it possible to make the longest casting, avoid overlapping and entanglement of the line, and significantly increase the sensitivity. We will look in detail at the best feeder assemblies, but first let's look at what the feeder is and what its essence is.

Feeder tackle

The name "feeder" comes from the English word feed , which means "feeder", "food". In the presence of a feeder on the rigging and is its main difference from other gear, where the rod is used.

The tackle itself consists of the following elements:

  • Rod;
  • A replacement quiver tip (the top of the rod), which is the bait detector;
  • Inertial coil with a line;
  • A feeder with fastening elements (carabiners, swivels, lock beads, etc.);
  • The leash;
  • hook.

Feeder Rods

Feeder rods are of two types: plug and telescopic. The first allow you to adjust the length of the blank, adding or subtracting the number of knees in it. This is very convenient, especially if you have to change the conditions of catching. Telescopic blanks are less versatile, but are more popular due to their quick preparation for catching.

All rods for the feeder are classified according to the following classes:

  • On pickers (ultralight);
  • lungs;
  • Average;
  • Heavy;
  • Superheavy.

In addition to this rod for feeder fishing is usually classified in the following order:

  • On fast;
  • Average;
  • Slow (parabolic).

Feeder coils and fishing lines

For feeder fishing, only inertia-free coils with different spool sizes are used. Their size is selected based on the required number and thickness of the line. Branded coils for convenience are equipped with several spare spools. Some of their models with a friction brake are equipped with a betrainer system, which allows very quickly to switch friction from normal mode to a mode with minimal resistance. This is necessary for a quick bleeding of the line in case of biting large fish.

As for the line itself, the feeder can use both monofilament and braid with a cross section from 0.12 to 0.3 mm.

What is a feeder?

Feeder attachment (assembly) - this is part of the tackle, including the feeder, all the elements of its fastening and providing movement, loading elements, leash and hook, mounted in a special way.

All feeder assemblies are designed for specific fishing conditions, therefore they have different designs, differing not only in the way of production and the elements used, but also in sensitivity, and also in the ability to provide self-clipping of fish.

To date, there are more than two dozen snap-in attachments for the feeder. We will consider the most popular and tested ones.

Common feeder erections

The most popular feeder assemblies include:

  • Paternoster, or Gardner's loop;
  • Symmetrical loop;
  • Asymmetric loop;
  • Equipment with an anti-twist tube;
  • Inline.

Let's try to figure out what is so good about these feeder montages, and also learn how to make them yourself.

Paternoster

In translation, "paternoster" means "Our Father". It is not known who and why gave the snap the name, but we will consider it as fundamental as the most famous prayer. Her other name is Gardner's loop. Here it is easier: Steve Gardner, the famous English fisherman and author of many fishing materials, is considered the inventor of this equipment.

Be that as it may, the paternoster is the easiest and most reliable installation for feeder fishing. It refers to deaf attachments, i.e., its feeder does not have a free path.

The Gardner's loop is tied directly in place of the catch. It will take more than five minutes to produce it. This is done as follows. At the end of the main line, a buttonhole is tied. Stepping back from it 15-25 cm, knit another loop so that its length in the folded form was about 10 cm. To this loop, by means of a swivel, the feeder is fixed. We tie a leash - and you can start fishing. As you can see, the installation of a feeder rig called a paternoster is very simple, even a beginner can cope with it.

Symmetrical loop

A symmetrical loop refers to loop assemblies with a movable feeder. Her sensitivity is much higher than that of the Gardner's loop, but far from ideal. This is a good feeder installation for crucian carp, which quickly grabs the bait, dragging it along with it, but for more cautious fish, such as carp or bream, it is usually not used.

A symmetric loop is produced as follows. Take a piece of fishing line 100 cm long and fold in half. Having retreated on one side of a 10-cm-thick line, the surgical knot is knit . The same procedure is carried out from the other side. The result is a loop with a length of 30 cm with 10-cm lateral branches. Now one of the taps must be turned into twist. To do this, use a pencil, which is inserted at the end of the loop. Scrolling it in one direction, the second end of the loop should be held, pulling the line. When the twist is ready, it must be fixed with a surgical junction.

Next, to the twisting by the method of "loop in the loop" we attach the leash. The reverse side of our symmetrical loop through the swivel must be connected to the main line. Mounting feeder feeders to one of the loop fields is also carried out by means of a swivel or carbine.

Asymmetric loop

An asymmetric loop is considered a professional tool. It has a very high sensitivity, especially when used in water with standing water. The installation of the feeder rigging, called the asymmetrical loop, is not particularly complicated and almost identical to the previous one. The difference is that when forming a large loop, one of its fields becomes longer by 10 cm. "But what does this give?" - you ask. When biting, the force from the hook is transmitted through the leash to the loop, and if it is symmetrical, it bifurcates, diverging in both fields. When using an asymmetrical loop, the force is transmitted through twisting only over a short field, which significantly increases the sensitivity of the rig even in difficult fishing conditions. Asymmetric loop is the best feeder installation for bream and carp on water with standing water or with moderate flow.

Anti-winding tube

This type of installation is used for fishing on rivers. It perfectly holds the bottom on the current, and also avoids overlapping when casting. In addition, the rigging with an anti-twister is quite sensitive, which makes it suitable for catching small and over-cautious fish.

There is nothing difficult in making this installation. The only thing that is needed for this is to purchase the anti-winding device itself. It is a curved tube made of soft plastic. The tube at the bend point has a fastener for the feeder. If you have not used this installation before, do not buy long tubes or large diameter pipes. Take the smallest and thinnest.

Now about the manufacture of rigging. We need to take a piece of fishing line 50 cm long. On the one hand we put a bead on it, and at the end we tie a swivel, through which we attach our snap to the main line. The other end is passed into the anti-winding tube, stretch it and fix it with a bead. At the end of the line we knit a swivel, and to it - a leash. Feed the trough through the carbine to the tube. The rig is ready.

Inline Tools

The essence of installation with the name "inline" is that the feeder is attached directly to the main line, and by a sliding method, which allows it to move freely in a certain area. Such a solution contributes to improving the flight characteristics of the rig, so the inline is often used for fishing when long-distance casting is required.

At the end of the main line we put on two stop beads and stretch them to the side. After that, we form the edge of the line in a small loop, which later we turn into twisting with a loop to fasten the leash. The length of twisting must necessarily be greater than the length of the feeder used.

One of the lock beads is placed directly at the beginning of the twist, and the second - at a distance of 10-15 cm from it. Between them on the carabiner we place a feeding trough.

In inline tools, special feeders of the "method" type are very often used. Their difference from the usual feeder feeders is that they are attached to the fishing line through an axial hole that runs through their entire body. They are made of plastic and have an appropriate load. A special place among them is occupied by unilateral open feeders. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that when you fall to the bottom, the open part is always on top, which is very convenient on a muddy or overgrown bottom.
