He was inspired by the attempt to produce the proto-punk band New York Dolls in the states and now, in 1975, was obsessed with creating something similar in his native Britain. On the note there was already a group that had everything but a charismatic soloist. To move forward, to fame and money, the company of young people needed the identity of the leader. More precisely, they already had a financial and ideological leader in the person of McClaren, but he could not sing punk rock. This leader was later Johnny Rotten.

Search for a soloist

The group began to look for this missing member as in a fever. Some artists, who were invited by newly-made punks, rejected the offer of beggars and unaware young people. And if there was any candidate for soloists who agreed to such a proposal, he was rejected by the members of this punk group. At least that was the beginning of the search. However, the day came when the proposals were exhausted.

It's funny, but in those difficult times for the band, they've already started looking for a soloist, focusing on a punk-style hairstyle . In the seventies, all the guys wore long hair and bright flared trousers. This was the peak of a peculiar fashion, which came back in the sixties. However, a young company of ambitious guys decided to take their luck at the tail of the new then-punk style. They needed a dirty, shaggy guy with a crazy look and disregard for everything and everything.

Where is this guy?

It was difficult to look for this "black cat", but one day luck smiled at these punks. They found him literally on the street. That's how Johnny Rotten became known. Like John Lydon, which is his real name, he is almost unknown to the public, because later he changed his plain-looking surname. Like the rest of the participants, he was a descendant of the lower social stratum of society and all this emphasized it. The nimble shirt of a nineteen-year-old boy was stabbed with a pin. Next to the inscription Pink Floyd there was a curved inscription with a felt-tip pen, saying "I hate". The picture was complemented by a completely green hairstyle and a look of a madman. His hair was deliberately sticking out.

Then, at the end of 1975. The first performance of Sex Pistols was held under a new name, at which incompetent musicians who were not trained at once were distinguished by bad behavior. They were in the college room to warm up another, more experienced punk band.
