Isadora (violet): features of care

Violet is one of the most common indoor flowers. A plant with flowers of amazing shape and outlandish coloring finds more and more admirers. Flowers of violets with five petals are collected in a brush. Leaflets are fleshy, round and fluffy - covered with villi. The leaves are different in shape - pointed or rounded. The stem of the violet is shortened. Fruit - a box with small seeds.

Currently, varieties of violets number several hundred. "Fialochnaya moda" is in step with the times, and annually the breeders spoil the florists with new species. Classics, of course, pleases with bright colors. But a special thrill causes in the shower every new variety. Violet Isadora relatively recently "honored" the florists with their attention, but already conquered the hearts of many of them. And for good reason. Large double and half-double flowers, fringed along the edge with bright lilac strokes and crimson mottled crimson. The variety pleases abundant flowering for a long time.

Despite the fact that Isadora - a violet unpretentious, care for her has some features. Observing them, you can grow a healthy and beautiful flower.

Soil and capacity

Violet prefers nutritious and friable soil, permeable to air and moisture. Excess moisture does not tolerate violet, and stagnant water can lead to disease of the plant. Given this fact, in the pot to pour the drainage - a layer of pebbles or expanded clay. The most suitable soil for the plant is a mixture:

  • 5 parts - sheet earth;
  • 1 part - sand;
  • 3 parts - peat.

In addition, charcoal and moss (sphagnum) can be added to the ground, light soil will contribute to the development of the plant, since Isadora - the violet is responsive to good care. Roots are located in the upper layer of the soil, so a small container with a diameter of 6-9 cm is suitable for a flower. In a smaller pot, the roots will be cramped and the plant will not develop well. A frequent transplant prevents the good development and growth of the flower.

Lighting

The violet of Le Isadora likes diffuse light, so it must be protected from direct sun rays. It is best to grow it on windows facing east, west or north. In summer, the violet needs to be shaded - it can be a sheet of white paper or cloth. In winter, on the contrary, there may be a need for artificial lighting, since the plant needs adequate lighting. Problems related to lighting:

  • Surplus of illumination - leaves of a violet curl downwards, as though "are hidden" from surplus of light. Leaflets become discolored - they will become light, almost yellow. The flowers fade and thin, quickly fade, and brown spots appear on the leaves-burns.
  • Lack of lighting - the petioles are stretched, the leaves stretch upward and lose their shine, they become thinner.

Temperature and humidity

The optimum temperature for violets is 20-24 degrees. In such conditions the plants bloom for a long time, large flowers last for a long time on the peduncle. Violet is a persistent plant capable of transferring a drop in temperature to 5 degrees. It is important to remember that in summer it is necessary to avoid temperatures over 30 degrees longer than 5 days. And in winter - at a lower temperature - you need to reduce watering.

Isadora is a violet, for which the drying of air is pernicious. It must be systematically sprayed. But it should be remembered that high humidity also leads to the development of fungal diseases.

The violet of Le Isadora. Description and features of watering

Violet is important to water properly and do not forget that excess moisture can ruin a plant. Therefore, the flower should be watered as the soil dries. Use warm water, because the plant simply does not suffer a cold watering. Water from the tap is recommended to settle for 2-3 days or pass through the filter. Violet requires accuracy in watering, for this you must follow the rule: water should not get to the point of growth of the flower, that is, the center of the plant. Therefore, irrigation can be carried out in 3 ways:

  • Through a pallet - the water in it should be poured exactly as much as absorbs the soil. 30 minutes after watering, drain the excess.
  • Watering from above is the most common and convenient way, but with violet requires accuracy. A thin trickle with a watering can or a container with a tube to pour water, not getting on the leaves of plants.
  • Fibulous watering - draw a piece of cloth through the drainage hole in the container: one end is lowered into a container with water, the other remains on the surface of the soil.

Diseases and pests

Isadora - a violet, which is practically not sick, if the indoor humidity is optimal. Transplantation or addition of a new primer can lead to late blight. You can see it by the brown spots on the leaves. Get rid of this disease is difficult, so in the soil should periodically add superphosphate. The violet is affected by nematode and thrips. Rid of pests can be nematicides.
