Installation of windows in a wooden house with their own hands

The installation of windows in a wooden house requires the presence of a system of "casing" or "window". Under the casing is to be understood a wooden box located between the window and the wall of the house, which is mounted before the installation of the window.

Thus, the casing is necessary, because:

  • The lower part performs the role of a window sill;
  • No need to make slopes;
  • Clypeus can be fixed easily and quickly;
  • Adds additional insulation along the perimeter of the window.

Preparatory work

Before you install wooden windows with your own hands, you need to do some work, namely:

  • Prepare the opening. If the height of the window unit exceeds 1000 mm, then the width of the opening is cut by 20 mm more than the width of the casing. Otherwise, this indicator is equal to 50 mm.
  • Insert the end key. To do this, you need to cut the groove in the butt end of the log.
  • Close the gaps between the casing and the window opening. The process of assembling the casing is carried out using self-tapping screws. Next, using the level, the box is installed in the opening and fixed to the keys and the bottom log. The resulting lower and lateral clearances are sealed with a sealant, and the upper space with mineral wool.
  • Install the window unit in the casing. In order to protect against weather conditions, a self-expanding vapor-permeable sealing tape is laid around the entire perimeter .
  • Finishing work. At this stage, the installation of windows in a wooden house provides for the closure of all the gaps that arise between the window unit and the casing from the inside. For this purpose, you can use fillets. The resulting space between the walls of the wooden house and casing is eliminated by installing the clypeus.

Modern wooden windows

It has long been considered that wood is the safest and environmentally friendly building material. That is why today households from timber, as well as wooden windows, are in great demand among the population. The main advantages are:

  1. Naturalness and ecological compatibility. The tree is an ecological pure natural material. The installation of windows in a wooden house is made of modern wooden specimens. Only carefully selected wood is used for this. Upon completion of the window assembly, its frame is treated with a special substance that prevents aging and damage from various insect pests.
  2. Thermal insulation. Modern wooden windows have low thermal conductivity. The frame of such windows is always warm, even if the outside temperature is below zero.
  3. Exchange of air. Since the tree "breathes", so the wooden frame is a pledge of the natural level of humidity in the house.
  4. Soundproofing. Sreeway wooden windows tend to have increased noise insulation.
  5. Protection from fire. Everyone knows that wood is a fire-resistant organic raw material. Since in the fire the tree retains its strength and does not melt, the installation of windows in a wooden house implies the installation of modern wooden options. After all, this material does not emit chemical harmful substances during combustion and a so-called "protective layer" is formed on it, preventing the penetration of fire deeper than the upper layer.
  6. Durability. Wood has a long service life. Wooden houses and windows are durable constructions that withstand various temperature differences.
