Infertile marriage is considered one of the most difficult and important problems of a medical and social nature. According to WHO, in such families, pregnancy does not occur within twelve months with regular sexual contacts without the use of contraceptives, provided that both spouses are of childbearing age.

In the territory of Russia, infertile marriage is a fairly common phenomenon. The share of such families is about 8-17.5 percent. However, their number does not tend to decrease. It is believed that if the number of infertile marriages exceeds fifteen percent, then the problem acquires state dimensions. This is due to the fact that this problem has an impact not only on individuals, but on the whole society as a whole, reducing the professional and social activity of this population group.
