"Flies" in the eyes - a sign of a serious disorder?

Each person has repeatedly experienced a feeling called the appearance of "flies" in the eyes. Sometimes it may seem like evidence of some sinister eye disease. But nevertheless, in most cases, "flies" in the eyes appear for completely innocuous reasons and are not a sign of pathology. However, it also happens when black "flies" before the eyes mean that peripheral vision has been disturbed. And this is already a problem ...

What are these strange signs? Black "flies" in the eyes, small spots or dots appear when a person looks at a fuzzy background, such as a blue sky or a monochrome wall. It is in this situation that the smallest objects become visible, which, when the person's head turns or the eyes move, move in inertia in the same direction, after which they smoothly descend and settle.

In perfectly healthy people, "flies" in the eyes may appear after a long sleep or being in the dark - when the eyes get used to changing the brightness of the lighting. Nevertheless, there are a number of cases when this sign indicates health problems that can lead to serious complications.

This includes osteochondrosis of the cervical spine, which is the most common cause of the appearance of "flies". This is due to the fact that this disease disrupts the blood flow in the vertebral arteries, reduces the pressure in them. These blood vessels are known to supply blood and oxygen to the brain.

"Flies" in the eyes may appear in more dangerous acute pathologies, such as internal bleeding. In this case, white dots appear before your eyes, which can often be the only manifestation of such a dangerous syndrome. The cause may be anemia, because of which the level of oxygen entering the brain decreases. Because of it, metabolism is also disturbed, including in the retina. Anemia also leads to the appearance of white dots in front of the eyes and impaired vision. Such "fad" appear and with a critical lowering of blood pressure, when vascular blood filling is not enough. White dots also appear in head injuries.

In the case of acute poisoning, toxic substances can affect the nervous system, including a part of it, such as the optic nerve. This pathology can lead not only to the appearance of "flies", but also to other visual disorders, for example, bifurcation in the eyes.

In the case of decompensated diabetes mellitus, there is a profound damage to the vessels of the retina of the eyes and brain, which also leads to the appearance of "flies". The hypertensive crisis often leads to a similar vascular injury due to excessive tension. In this case, the exchange between the blood channel and the tissues is weakened. In this case, the retina is one of the most sensitive tissues of this type.

If the "flies" in the eyes appear in the second half of pregnancy. Then it can talk about the presence of a disease such as eclampsia, which is dangerous for both the mother and the fetus.
