In what cases is insurance required for the Schengen

For those who are going to leave for the EU countries, insurance is necessary for the Schengen. It is a document of a certain type, operating in a number of European countries. Medical insurance for the Schengen countries is valid throughout the trip. It must meet a number of requirements:

- The period for which insurance is issued must be no less than the validity of the visa.

- Medical insurance for Schengen must be valid in all countries entering its zone.

- According to the conditions, it must cover all expenses for medical care.

If these requirements are not met, then, most likely, you will be refused a visa.

Insurance for Schengen can be issued in three ways: through programs A, B and C, each of which complements the previous one. For example, insurance under program A guarantees the receipt of qualified assistance after an accident, after an acute attack of some disease. Program B assumes both the possibilities of the first and additional service: calling your attending physician from the motherland. The third option - insurance for Schengen S includes the first two options and guarantees payment of all costs for additional services, which in each case may be completely different.

When traveling abroad with your family or friends, you need to know that every member of the family or a member of the group must be insured, including minors, because in case of illness it will not be possible to use another's policy.

Insurance for the Schengen zone should be formalized in accordance with the rules that apply in European countries.

The availability of health insurance for travel to the Schengen countries is also mandatory for entry into most other world states. The embassies of these countries and the US will not issue a visa if the corresponding policy is not issued. Abroad, you will probably need it, since the costs for receiving medical care for the disease are so covered, and the cost of medicines is also refunded. In addition, if necessary, the victim is sent home free of charge.

Accident insurance assumes much higher payments than the cost of medical care. If a tourist receives a minor injury, he is entitled to receive free medical assistance and, if necessary, to send him home. If a person loses his full capacity (or even partially), he is paid a refund, which can amount to several tens of thousands of dollars.

Insurance with loss of luggage. In this case, the insurance company guarantees a partial or full compensation for the value of the lost luggage. For those who lost their luggage on their own negligence, compensation for damages does not apply.

The insurance is valid also at fires, acts of terrorism, acts of nature. This type of service is relevant for travel to countries with unstable conditions.

Different companies offer health insurance for countries included in the list of countries in the European zone. You need to know that the insurance for the Schengen is issued without a franchise, and the responsibility for it must be at least thirty thousand euros. Usually these conditions fully correspond to the requirements of foreign embassies and to provide medical assistance, and on the terms of validity. Today, insurance for Schengen is available to all insurance companies.
