Immortelle is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the family of Compositae. Its habitat is dry sandy soils of the middle belt of Russia, the Caucasus and Siberia. Flower immortelle, used for medicinal purposes, harvested at the beginning of the flowering period in dry weather. They contain stearins and essential oil, coloring and tanning agents, flavonoids and resins, carotene and bitter vitamins K and C, as well as a wide range of minerals.

Immortelle, whose medicinal properties are used in the prescriptions of folk healers for getting rid of pathologies of the liver and bile ducts, diseases of the gallbladder and female genital area, rheumatism and gout, are used, as a rule, in the form of infusions and broths. Thanks to the spasmolytic effect on the body, the healing herb finds its application to eliminate spasms in the digestive system. Decoctions prepared from this plant contribute to the improvement of intestinal motility. They are recommended for constipation. What else has immortelle medicinal properties? It is an effective remedy for flatulence, intestinal pain and nausea. Its use is also recommended for diseases of the urinary tract and kidneys.


Immortelle, whose medicinal properties are used in the manufacture of medicines, is the basis for the manufacture of several drugs. These drugs are not prescribed for individual intolerance of the constituent components. Particular care when taking it is required to observe people with hypertension.
