I get dizzy when I lie down and get up. The head is spinning, the pressure is normal

All of us in life experienced a slight dizziness. For example, when riding a carousel or spinning in a dance. And this is considered the norm. But in some situations dizziness is considered a sign of a disease. Some patients complain: "I feel dizzy when I lie down and get up." However, there may not be other symptoms.

Diseases are different, but one sign

Dizziness itself is not a diagnosis. This is one manifestation of another disease. Vertigo can be found in certain diseases: cervical osteochondrosis, insufficiency of blood supply to cerebral vessels, infectious diseases, brain tumors, drug intoxications, skull injuries, neuroses.

Often dizziness is confused with visual disorders. It is a fog or a shroud before your eyes or the flashing of "midges". If there are unpleasant sensations when traffic flashes, it is not dizziness, but a disorder of the vestibular apparatus.

How real dizziness manifests

Present dizziness is a violation of the vestibular apparatus. It seems to the patient that everything around him rotates, there is shakiness and instability.

Vestibular Dizziness

Occurs when the central department or peripheral part of the vestibular analyzer is damaged. This kind of dizziness arises with a sense of rotation not only of objects, but also of one's own body. Quite often it is accompanied by vomiting, nausea, hearing impairment, sweating, false sex movement. With this kind of dizziness, patients complain: "I feel dizzy when I lie down and get up."

Non-vestibular dizziness

Patients describe it as a feeling of intoxication, approaching loss of consciousness, instability in walking and lightness in the head. People who suffer from neuroses, cardiovascular or endocrine diseases become so dizzy. Pressure in the norm is observed in this case in 60% of patients.

Why there is dizziness

Symptoms of dizziness are often associated with many factors. Do not take into account the dizziness that occurs from time to time under certain circumstances. For example, women before menstruation may experience mild dizziness. The same happens with smokers. By delaying another cigarette, they experience dizziness.

However, it is necessary to beat the alarm when dizziness is accompanied, for example, by noise in the ears. This can be the beginning of the manifestation of the disease. If the head turns dizzy, this may also indicate the onset of a mental or neurological disease.

Vertigo may be accompanied by headaches. This may indicate the onset of inflammation of the inner ear, which often passes with purulent discharge and a decrease in hearing.

Dizziness can become one of the symptoms of vestibular neuritis. It begins suddenly, usually after sleep. The person begins to complain: "I feel dizzy when I lie down and get up." The symptom may be accompanied by vomiting.

With constantly recurring dizziness, one can speak of such diseases as osteochondrosis and hypotension. They can be repeated with a sharp rise from the bed and accompanied by a cold sweat, pressure jumps and a pre-stupor condition. Quite often very dizzy in the morning with a hangover.

Vegetosovascular dystonia is another reason why vertigo is possible. After all, this disease disrupts the smooth functioning of the nervous system and the process of blood circulation.

Persistent dizziness may occur with an impending circulatory failure in the brain. Quite often it is accompanied by weakness in the limbs, double vision and a violation of sensitivity.

It is also necessary to exclude brain tumors. For the first symptoms of unilateral hearing loss and dizziness, consult a doctor to get a checkup. Such kinds of dizziness can be accompanied by headaches, which in time can grow. Most patients complain: "Vertigo increases when I lie down." The head of one patient is spinning in the supine position, while the other is on the side.

Cervical osteochondrosis is an insidious disease in which the vertebral artery is squeezed, which causes insufficient blood circulation in the brain. Very often patients with osteochondrosis in the mornings experience severe dizziness.

In rare cases, dizziness can talk about the inflammatory processes of brain tissue. In these cases, it is quite strong and requires immediate treatment in the hospital.

Light dizziness should not be regarded as a serious illness. After all, during pregnancy, strict diets or fasting, people often get a little dizzy (blood pressure is normal or slightly lowered). This manifests itself during exercise or walking.

Soaking in transport is another reason for dizziness.

Psychogenic disorders occur in people who are too prone to emotions. They occur in a stressful situation, for example, with a large crowd of people. This symptom is accompanied by a cold sweat, a sensation of perspiration in the throat or a fit of suffocation.

A frequent companion of migraine is also the condition in question. Before the onset of an attack, some people have such feelings.

What if I feel dizzy

  1. If you feel dizzy, do not panic. To avoid falling, sit or lie down. If it is impossible to do this, find a support in the form of a wall, a tree or a handrail.
  2. When dizzy, caused by motion sickness, close your eyes or focus on a stationary object.
  3. Do not make sharp turns of the head, they only increase dizziness.
  4. If possible, measure blood pressure. At high pressure, call an ambulance, at low - drink strong coffee or tea with sugar.

Treatment of dizziness

"I get dizzy when I lie down and get up" - do not try to treat yourself with these complaints. First you need to identify the true cause of your illness. Address to the doctor-neurologist or otonevrologu. In some cases, it may be necessary to consult an endocrinologist, therapist or otolaryngologist.

In case of sudden strong dizziness accompanied by other symptoms, immediately call for an ambulance. Before the brigade arrives, measure your blood pressure. With an elevated value, do not attempt to knock it down yourself, taking medications without an appointment. Take care of your health!
