How to save money for the journey of your dreams?

Travel is the dream of every person, but it is also a serious blow to the budget. So you have to save to go on a trip. But how is the economy organized correctly?

Set a specific goal for yourself

When it comes to something like a trip, you should understand that there are a lot of tricks that will help you save up for your trip. And the first of them - as much as possible concretize, on what you will postpone. Decide for yourself when and where you want to go. Also, determine the specific number, that is, set the travel budget. Check how much will be the airflight, hotel, food. You need to estimate in your mind how much money you need to put aside to achieve your goal. Print out the image of your destination and hang it next to the computer or put in a purse: the more you remember about your goal, the more likely that you will postpone it.

Set it aside without straining

The next thing you need to do is not to put pressure on yourself. Most people are inert creatures, and if you always think about your savings, when you save money, life will do its bit. The best approach is to create a separate account in the bank, to which the money will be transferred automatically. All you need to do is to fill out the form in the bank and ask the HR department for some of your salary to go to another account. You will not miss the money that you did not get. You will automatically adjust the budget. In addition, if you happen to have an unexpected increase (salary increase, bonus, tax refund) - postpone part of the amount for vacation.

Set aside a trifle

Never pay a trifle, always pay only with large money, and in the end you will gain a decent amount of trifles. And if you collect it and constantly put it in a piggy bank, the result can be a good amount.

Make a public statement

Tell other people about your goal. There are a lot of studies that showed that if you tell someone about your goal or write it down on paper, you are more likely to reach it. Tell your mother, tell your children, tell your friends and colleagues that you are going on a trip. Write it down on paper and place it on the fridge or on the blackboard next to the workstation.

Be responsible

The last thing you need to do is take full responsibility. Fortunately, now there are a lot of tools that can get you into this. You can use the program, application or even an online service that will help you set a goal, and then reach it with the help of various reminders and notifications. You can even assign your friend a "referee" who will track your progress and help you move in the right direction. These are the basics, however, this is far from all the techniques that can be used.

Other tips

  • Keep yourself in hand. When you go to the store, do not touch anything. Studies show that if you touch the product, you have a sense of psychological ownership and the likelihood that you will acquire this product is increasing.
  • Enter the waiting period. To avoid impulsive purchases, wait 24 to 48 hours before buying anything. If you think about buying twice, then you will not make half of those purchases that would have done if you thought only once.
  • Keep records. Another trick that you should use to start saving is to record everything that you have gained, from chewing gum at the checkout to magazines. Studies show that when you see your habits on paper, you can perform self-regulation and, accordingly, reduce costs.
  • Look for ways to earn extra money. There are only two ways to save money: to earn more and spend less. Most often, it's easier to simply reduce costs than to look for an additional source of earnings, but new profit streams can easily accelerate the process of saving money for long-awaited holidays. Spend a two-way sale, do freelancing, sell unnecessary furniture, find additional work with part-time employment.
