How to prevent periodontitis

Almost every one of us knows the signs of periodontitis. This and bleeding during the cleaning of teeth, and traces of blood on foods during meals. The prevalence of gum inflammation in adults is more than fifty percent, and very many continue to ignore the first signs of periodontitis. This can lead first to the deepening of the dentogingival pockets and loosening of the teeth (and possibly to their loss).

In order to prevent periodontitis, it is necessary to pay due attention to oral hygiene. You need to brush your teeth every day - right after breakfast and before bedtime, and at least five minutes.

Plaque, especially a multi-day, evil enemy and teeth, and gums. When brushing your teeth, you should not scratch them like tarpaulin boots, teeth and gums do not like the strength, power and frequency of brush movements, but the correctness, accuracy and duration. Movements should be as if sweeping, directed in one direction - from the gum to the chewing surface. When moving "back and forth" the scurf is not so much cleaned as it is driven into the dentogingival pockets. It is also useful to massage the gums with a brush and clean the mucous cheeks and the back of the tongue.

How do people respond to bleeding gums during cleansing?

Most often they "pity" themselves, replacing the hard brush with a softer one. In this case, the plaque on the teeth, especially in the cervical areas, remains more and more. Plaque contributes to the progression of periodontitis, in which case the bleeding persists or intensifies. Therefore, the brush should be changed regularly, and with bleeding, even more severe.

The use of "Parodontox", toothpaste, originally developed for professional use by doctors-periodontists, can significantly improve the situation. But often self-cleaning teeth is not enough. If the plaque has already become a tartar, the dentist's hand can quickly and reliably remove it. Timely appeal to the periodontist - the best solution to the problem!

In addition to a toothbrush, modern hygienists offer a whole arsenal of additional hygiene products. This and dental floss (floss) - flat, comfortable, impregnated with antiseptics. Also, dental brushes, helping to finish unavailable for the brush "corners" of the mouth. There are also conical rubber massagers with which you can massage the inflamed dental papilla after cleaning your teeth. This increases blood circulation in them and helps reduce inflammation. Even a finger massage of the gums will not remain unnoticed for them and clearly will benefit.

The most recent option for the treatment of periodontitis is the curettage of the gum pockets. The food should be balanced. Non-functioning organs eventually become atrophied, especially muscles and joints. Solid food gives a regular load on the periodontium, not allowing it to degrade. Important and balanced food, especially the sufficiency in it of ascorbic acid, which affects both the state of connective tissue, and the permeability of the blood capillaries.

It is very useful for gums to rinse the mouth with decoctions of chamomile, sage, calendula, St. John's wort. Decoction of the bark of oak is very popular, but somewhat inferior in its effect. Broth of rose hips is better to apply not for rinsing, but inside as a pleasant and useful alternative to tea. As an additional oral care product that does not exclude the cleaning of teeth, the use of various rinses should be considered. They have both anti-inflammatory and deodorizing effects. However, do not use the same remedy for a long time, especially containing antimicrobial components in order to avoid disturbance of the microflora balance in the oral cavity.
