The park can be reached by public transport. To do this, you need to make one change: first, take the subway to the station "Exhibition Center", where you change to a fixed-route taxi No. 548 and go to the final stop.

A brief history of the area and the park

The first settlement originated here in 1741 (Lazarevka farm). At the beginning of the XIX century Bishop Feofan Shiyanov founded the monastery here. His name was later named the whole area in the south of Kiev. In the second half of the same century the lands of Feofanii belonged to the Mikhailovsky Monastery, and after the October Revolution a suburban state farm was organized here.

By the way, the street leading to the park is named so not by chance. In the middle of the twentieth century, a group of Soviet scientists led by Academician Lebedev was working in Feofaniya to create the world's first small electronic computer (abbreviated as MEVM).

The status of the monument to landscape architecture "Feofaniya" got back in 1992. In 2003, a large-scale reconstruction of the Kiev recreational area began. In the park there were paved paths and avenues, bridges and flower beds, the territory was decorated with fountains, alcoves and playgrounds. Theophany became a place of real pilgrimage for the newlyweds.

Panteleimonovsky temple

An amazing fact: this beautiful structure has the status of an architectural monument not of the state, but only of local significance! Panteleimonovsky temple was built in 1905 in the Moscow architectural style, at the request of the monks of the local monastery. The author of the building was the famous Kiev architect Yevgeny Ermakov.

During the Second World War, the shrine was badly damaged by a direct mortar attack. In the state of semi-ruins the temple was located until the beginning of the 90s, when its reconstruction began. But the restoration of the iconostasis inside the church is still ongoing.

Tourists, guests of the capital, and simply residents of the city should definitely go to the park Feofaniya! Kiev, as is known, is not limited to Lavra, Maidan or Sofia. There are a lot of other interesting objects and attractions, a visit which will give a lot of positive impressions.
