Bellver Castle

Cave of the Dragon

This monastery is built in one of the most mysterious and sacred places of the island of Mallorca. The sights of this paradise corner often have a long and exciting history. According to local beliefs, the monastery of Luke stands in the place of the ancient temple, where pagan rituals were performed to worship the spirits of the forest. Archaeologists excavated at the site of the sanctuary and discovered objects of the Iron and Bronze Ages. According to legend, in the 13th century a simple shepherd found the image of St. Mary on the site of the monastery erection and took it to a more suitable place - a local temple. But in the morning the image was again in the forest, in the same place. It was there that the chapel was built.

At the end of the 17th century the monastery was reconstructed and stylized in the spirit of the Renaissance. Even later, the outstanding architect Gaudi worked on the facade of the building . Inside the monastery is stored an ancient relic - a statuette of the Holy Virgin Luke of dark stone. Inside the building there is an archaeological museum, and around the monastery there is a delightful garden.

Gardens of Alfabia

The magnificent gardens of Alfabia are another charming place that Spain can rightfully be proud of. Mallorca, whose attractions are worthy of attention, is famous for its luxurious vegetation. Gardens of Alfabia - a unique example of landscape design. They surround the manor with the same name. Located on the west coast of Mallorca, at the foot of the rocky Tramuntana Mountains, the gardens beckon with their shady alleys croplanded with lemon, orange and other fruit trees and shrubs. The estate of La Granja was built in this simple and noble style. It was built during the Roman Empire at the behest of a nobleman. A train
