The same tool can create a ring. Change the value to the path in the settings. And by right-clicking on the highlighted circle, you must select "Stroke". Next, set the value in pixels of the stroke width. Do not forget to remove the selection.

Another circle can be created using a brush. Choose a round brush with hard edges. The size of the brush can be adjusted using square brackets on the keyboard. In this case, you will get a bitmap image.
