How to draw a circle without a compass

Lessons in geometry and drawing often require you to carry a compass with a compass and stencils. But how to draw a circle when there are no special tools at hand? To the aid comes savvy and improvised adaptations!

Smooth circle with the help of hands

This requires a sheet of paper, a medium hardness pencil or soft and a hand. This method is used by almost all artists, when the picture needs smooth circles.

1. Draw a small circle (animal's eyes, details of architecture): put the paper on a flat surface, the pencil should be in the hand as in ordinary writing. Place a hand on the sheet so that it rests on the little finger of the little finger. In this case, the condition must be observed that the sheet should be pressed so that it simultaneously makes contact with the table and it can be rotated about the axis, i.e. Little finger. The second hand rotates the paper in a circle, without moving your hand with a pencil. During the rotation, the pencil lead should touch the paper, and after the rotation an even small circle should be obtained.

2. How to draw a circle with a diameter of more than 50 mm? The same tools will be needed, but the pencil lead should be soft. Drawing with Protractor

Resourcefulness can be more than compensated forgetfulness, especially when there is not a series of compasses, but there is a protractor. This universal tool often replaces the usual ruler because of its compactness.

The algorithm "How to draw a smooth circle with a protractor" consists of 5 steps:

• On the sheet of paper put a point - the center of the circle;
• Attach the protractor to this point with its base (usually there is already an opening on the plastic tools);
• Circle the rounded part of the device with a pencil along the inner or outer circle, thus forming a semicircle;
• Turn the protractor 180 degrees, repeat the previous procedure;
• Remove the protractor and manually connect the pencil lines to form a circle.

Drawing with a CD and a glass

This method is considered the simplest. It is enough to attach a disk to a sheet of paper and circle it around, if you need a circle of large diameter. Also with its help it is easy to draw a small circle, circling the inner hole of the CD in a circle. Teachers are categorically against this method, explaining how to draw a circle with the help of other improvised items.

For example, a glass can also serve as a substitute for a circula- tion. To do this, the bottom or top of the glass is placed on a piece of paper and circled around it. In this case, the bottom, like the glass itself, must be dry inside, so as not to spoil the picture. Glasses can be replaced with spray cans from hair spray, deodorant or shaving foam, tracing their bottoms with a pencil.

Method for seamstresses

To make a pattern of any wardrobe object where rounded parts are required, seamstresses have devised their own way how to draw a circle. First, the radius of the future circle is calculated. For example, when measuring the waist, the number was 600 mm - this is the length of the circle. To calculate the radius, the school formula is used: the circumference is divided by 2p.

Accordingly, the radius in the example will be 600 / 3.14 * 2 = 100 mm.

Now you need two identical in length pencil. They need to be connected with each other by a thread so that the distance of the tensioned thread between the pencils is equal to 100 mm. One pencil will be a pencil. Take the second pencil for the entire length of the thread. While holding the supporting one, in a circle hold the line in the second pencil. The main thing is to hold the thread in a tightened state. It is necessary to independently choose the rotation speed of the lead, and fix the paper on a horizontal surface.
