How to clean your laptop yourself

Do you know what is one of the significant sources of income for service centers that serve laptops and other computer equipment? Replacement of components that contain a factory defect? Not at all! We find the warranty sheet on your laptop, yes, the one you signed when you bought it, even without particularly paying attention to the conditions. It says that the warranty does not apply to electronic components if it detects dust, insects and other foreign objects entering the enclosure. In other words, if a cockroach crawls inside the laptop and closes something there, you will have to pay for repairs from your own pocket. But insects are not so bad, a much more frequent guest in our computers is the ubiquitous dust. Where is without it ?!

It is so shallow that it easily penetrates all the cracks in the housing, in which a vacuum is created due to the blowing fan, drawing in surrounding dust and air. If during the warranty period the laptop stops working normally due to a hardware failure, the service center may refuse to repair, referring to the thick layer of dust covering the components. This is as lucky as the master and the service center (SC). That's why prudent users periodically bring their electronic comrade to the SC to clean the laptop, paying for this work. Still, cleaning is cheaper than possible replacement parts. So, computer manufacturers recognize the degree of influence of dust on the work of components, once separately prescribed it in the guarantee sheet.

Starting to search the web for information about the warranty, you can see a lot of "how to clean the laptop." Indeed, if the warranty period is over, why not perform an audit? The first, and the simplest answer to the question of how to clean a laptop - is to visit the SC. In this case, you can be sure that the work will be performed by specialists. But how to be, if there is an archive of family frank photographs on the hard disk that curious employees of the SC can see? Any valuable information can be stolen. How to clean the laptop in this case? The only correct answer is yourself. Agree, it's a shame to pay honestly earned money for a minute job. How? It takes about five minutes to clean the laptop. It is recommended to do this yourself only after the warranty period has passed. Still, the breakdown of the sticker seal completely deprives the warranty. Next, we'll show you how to clean the cooler in your laptop.

First you need to disassemble the laptop. There is nothing complicated in this, because most manufacturers, understanding the existing problem, prudently simplify the performance of such cleaning. Usually, to access the radiators, these genuine dust collectors, it is enough to remove the bottom cover. Disconnect from the laptop battery. One of the covers on the underside of the case is screwed with several screws, they need to be unscrewed. Then, gently pull it up to remove from the additional locking latches. Here you can see the part of the board and the cooling system: a heat pipe and a radiator, blown by a fan. One of the problems of laptops is caused by their compactness, so a small heatsink is very quickly clogged with dust and debris, ceasing to perform its functions. Unscrew the three small screws, remove the fan. This makes it easy to clean the radiator. Usually the lumens between its ribs are completely clogged. With a thin brush, we remove the dust layer by layer, then blow it. It will not be superfluous to clean the blade of the fan from the stuck garbage with a piece of cotton wool. Assemble in the reverse order: fan, cover, battery.
