How should the feeding of apples be carried out?

Nourishing apple trees has its own nuances. You need to know that young and mature apple trees need different feeding. It is these differences that we will consider.

Top dressing of young apple trees starts from the first year after planting: the root one in early spring, foliar ones later (one in May, one in June). For root feeding in a bucket of water (10 liters) 50 grams of urea (2 tablespoons) are bred. Under each young tree is poured 15 liters of solution (one and a half buckets). For foliar top dressing it is better to buy ready-made liquid preparations, such as "Effeton", "Humate of sodium" (tablespoon of fertilizer per bucket of water). To fertilize a young apple, you need 2 liters of the resulting solution.

Beginning next year, young (not yet fruit-bearing apple-trees) are additionally fed in September with phosphorus and potassium (two buckets of water are poured into one young tree, in which 4 liters of phosphorus-potassium preparation was dissolved beforehand).

Root top dressing of apple trees is carried out with a deviation of 60 cm from the tree (not under the trunk). Do not forget about the location of the roots. Likewise, the fertilizing of columnar apples (vigorous) should take place. Adult apple trees should be fertilized throughout the leading vegetation period (four times per season). For the first fertilizing, experienced gardeners recommend using urea (500 g) and humus (5 buckets). This composition is scattered around the tree (already bearing fruit) in the second half of April.

The second feeding of apple trees is carried out when buds appeared (the beginning of flowering). In the absence of rains (or if there are not enough of them), the top dressing is introduced in the liquid state. A barrel with a volume of 200 liters will require potassium sulfate (800 g), superphosphate (kilogram pack), bird droppings (5 liters) or slurry (10 liters). The latter components can be replaced with urea (about 500 g) or with the drug "Effeton" (two bottles). All this is mixed and left for a week. The rate of fertilizing is 40 liters for one fruit tree. When watering, you should retreat a minimum of 50 cm from the stem (trunk). Before fertilizing and after the tree is watered.

The third top dressing will be required in the phase of fruit filling. In a two- liter barrel, sodium humate (20 g) and nitrophos (1 kg) are dissolved . Consumption for one tree is 3 buckets.

The fourth feeding is needed in autumn (carried out after harvesting). If the autumn is rainy, supplementation can be made in dry form - 300 g of superphosphate and sodium sulfate. If there is little rain, this is the amount of fertilizer diluted with water.

Very fond of mature apples and foliar top dressing. It is carried out by a solution of urea three times per season. The first time sprayed when the apple tree is just beginning to bloom. Between the feeding should be a break in three weeks. To make a solution, dilute two tablespoons of urea in a bucket of water. Not only leaves are moistened, but also the skeletal branches, and the trunk.

But on this apple top dressing does not end there. In addition it is not bad to carry out spraying with such microelements as zinc, molybdenum, manganese, boron, copper, magnesium. The listed elements are contained in the composition of mineral fertilizers, such as "Kemira" (on a bucket of water - 20 g of composition). Very useful and wood ash (a glass of ash is poured with boiling water, then the total volume is brought to 10 liters).
