Thermal insulation "Energoflex" for pipes: technical characteristics

The modern market of building materials presents an abundance of various means for thermal insulation. One of the most popular and effective is Energoflex. This relatively new material is in great demand among consumers due to its excellent thermal insulation properties and quite moderate cost.

What is this material

Thermal insulation "Energoflex" for pipes is produced since September 2000. This is the first Russian technical heat insulator, the characteristics of which are in no way inferior to foreign analogues. The material is available in several forms, which allows you to choose the best option for a particular case.

"Energoflex" is a flexible, waterproof, technical heat insulator. It is made of polyethylene by extrusion of PEVD and foaming with butane-propane. The technology of its production excludes the use of freon. The material has a structure with closed microcells filled with air, which provides high thermal insulation qualities.

Thermal insulation is the main function that Energoflex performs for pipes. Technical characteristics of the material provide excellent protection against freezing. It also protects against overheating. In addition, this material is a good soundproofing device, delays and absorbs unnecessary noise.

Scope of application

"Energoflex" for pipes, whose technical characteristics due to the porous structure is quite high, has been successfully used in many areas. For example, they are warmed by pipeline systems:

  • Water supply;
  • Conditioning;
  • Heating;
  • Sewage;
  • Ventilation;
  • Trunk routes.

"Energoflex" is used in construction for insulation of walls, ceilings, floors, attics of various buildings and structures. It is also effective in private houses, in economic buildings, and in industrial facilities. Also, Energoflex is used in machine building, furniture production and as a packaging material.

Specifications

Thermal insulation "Energoflex" for pipes differs in weight of advantages over other heat insulators. The life of the material is about 25 years. It is resistant to aggressive environment, it does not collapse from the effects of chemicals, as well as building materials such as brick, cement, gypsum, lime, concrete. This insulator is strong before the mechanical action, as its structure is quite elastic. The range of operating temperatures of "Energoflex" is from -40 ° to + 95 ° C.

The thermal insulation material is waterproof, it protects the pipelines from overheating, freezing, as well as steam and condensate, thereby protecting them from corrosion processes. The product has good heat conductivity - 0,038 W / (m * K). It is also an excellent noise isolator, the noise absorption coefficient at frequencies 1500-1600 Hz is 52, and in the range up to 1300 Hz it is 26.

The material is environmentally friendly and safe for health, since it does not contain chlorofluorocarbons. It is multifunctional, easy to install, easy to fit on any surface. "Energoflex" for pipes, whose technical characteristics make the use of communication systems less energy-consuming, is very beneficial in application.

A heat insulator has one drawback. It does not withstand temperatures above 100 °, so it can only be used for internal utility networks. It should be protected from direct sunlight. Heat insulation for heating pipes "Energoflex" should be used cautiously.

Types of "Energofleksa"

"Energoflex" is used in many spheres, therefore it is produced in several forms. The choice of the appropriate material depends on the functions that it will have to perform.

  • Pipes with different length, thickness and diameter. Protect pipelines from corrosion, reduce heat loss in communications.
  • Roll material. Available with or without foil coating. Most often used for the system "warm floor".
  • Self-adhesive tape. It is made in the form of rolls. Used to seal joints, finish air ducts.
  • Sheet product. It is used for coating reinforcement, tanks, pipelines with a large diameter.
  • Plates of insulation. Some modifications are available with foil coating. They warm both the floors and the communication systems.

Cost of material

The cost of insulation "Energoflex" is quite democratic in comparison with other similar materials. It depends on several factors. This is the structure of the material, its modification, form of release. Also the price is affected by the dimensions of the heat insulator. Since the material in most cases is sold in sets, the cost will depend on the number of components in the set.

For example, insulation for pipes "Energoflex" is measured in running meters. The components of its price will be the diameter and thickness of the product.

Preparing for installation

Since the most common insulation of pipes "Energoflex", in the article we give an example of the installation of this type of material. Before you begin installing it, you need to learn a few rules that must be followed in the course of the work.

  1. The air temperature should be above 0 °.
  2. Surfaces, which will be laid layer of insulation, should be cleaned of dirt and degreased.
  3. If an insulated "Energoflex" is installed for pipes, the system should be switched off and started 24 hours after the end of the work.
  4. If more than one layer of material is laid, carefully monitor the overlapping of the joints.
  5. Initially, it is necessary to isolate the reinforcement and fittings, and then smooth sections of the pipeline.

For the installation of thermal insulation you will need tools:

  • Ruler, compasses, protractor;
  • punch;
  • knife;
  • marker;
  • Brush.

Installation of "Energoflex"

To get a tee, the tube "Energoflex" is divided in two. In one half, a wedge-shaped hole is cut at an angle of 90 °, its diameter is equal to the circumference of the tube. The edge of the other part should be cut at an angle of 45 ° on both sides. Adhesive bonded joints. Then the tee should be cut, put on the pipeline, glued at the seams and fixed with adhesive tape.

Shaped parts are formed as follows: on the "Energoflex" tube at an angle of 45 ° two wedge-shaped cutouts are made. Adhesives are applied to their edges. Then the part should be bent so that it forms the desired angle.

If it is necessary to isolate an already installed pipeline, the "Energoflex" tube is gently cut at the place of the technological cut. At the edges of the resulting incision with a brush, apply glue. A heater is put on the pipe, its edges are connected.

If the system has not yet been installed, then the tube "Energoflex" is very carefully tied to the tube first. Joints, which must not coincide with weld seams, are greased with glue. It dries for about 5 minutes. Additional joints are fixed with adhesive tape.

In modern construction, Energoflex is often used for pipes. The technical characteristics of this heat insulator are excellent, which makes it so popular.
