"Ovestin" (candles vaginal) is considered an effective hormonal medicine. It has a very broad spectrum of effects on the female body.

"Ovestin" candles are prescribed at the onset of menopause. Its action is aimed at compensating for the lack of female hormones.

The medication is administered orally vaginally. The initial dose of the drug is prescribed in the amount of one candle once a day for the first two or three weeks. Further, the dosage of the drug is gradually reduced to one candle twice a week.

The drug in the form of a cream is administered orally at a dosage of four to eight milligrams per day for two to three weeks. Then the dosage gradually decreases to one or two milligrams per day.

"Ovestin" candles are not used for cervical and breast cancer, uterine bleeding, thrombophlebitis, cardiac or hepatic insufficiency. Contraindication is pregnancy.

Side effects include vomiting, dizziness, nausea, headache. "Ovest" candles can affect the change in libido and contribute to weight gain.

Special care requires the use of medication by women who are characterized by: arterial hypertension, impaired renal and hepatic function, edema, migraine, epilepsy, mastopathy, endometriosis.

The drug is especially effective in the period before the onset of menopause, accompanied by difficulties in the endocrine and genitourinary systems. According to experts, only accurate compliance with all the instructions given in the manual guarantees good results.

Some women at the beginning of therapy complain of a burning sensation in the vagina after the injection of a candle. Many patients are dissatisfied with the fact that their periodic outflow occurs, which brings a lot of inconvenience and discomfort.
