Holster for the pistol: appointment, photo. Holster for PM submunition gun

Since the advent of firearms, armies around the world have had many new problems. And the point here is not only the increased firepower of enemy soldiers, but also the issues of carrying and transporting personal weapons. Approximately at the same time, a holster appeared. For a pistol, this piece of equipment is especially necessary, since it allows you to always have it with you, without experiencing any inconvenience.

What it is?

The holster (from Turkish kubur - "cover, quiver") - a small cover, a case, adapted for carrying personal firearms. Initially, it was not so often worn on the body, since it was mainly attached to the saddles. Already in those distant times, the holster for the pistol had to meet one basic requirement: its contents should be extracted as quickly as possible, without creating delays that could become deadly.

Brief information about the development of holsters in our country

In our country this piece of equipment is also known as "pistol", "olstra" and even "chushka". The latter term usually denoted holsters, which clung to both sides of the saddle's bow (that is, the cavalrymen).

It so happened that in the army of our country the holster for a pistol is one of the main signs of belonging to the officer "estate." Most often this item of equipment is made of natural or artificial leather, which is painted in black. It is attached to a belt with a belt. On its side can be sewn additional pocket, which is convenient to store an additional store for the gun, a cleaning rod for cleaning it, etc.

The military industry of the USSR and the RF centrally produced holsters for the revolver, a TT and PM pistol . It should be noted that the purpose of the pistol holster at that time was often twofold. It was not only a "cover" for the protection of personal small arms against the weather and encroachments of the enemy, but also the butt. We will discuss this in more detail below.

Basic Types

There are several types of such useful device for wearing personal weapons. First, the belt, which are divided into two varieties:

  • Designed for outdoor wear.
  • Hidden, which is customary to wear on the inner surface of the thigh (which makes it difficult to visualize them).

The following types also exist:

  • Operative, designed to be worn on the shoulder.
  • Hip, better known as "tactical".
  • Pocket. Explanations are superfluous.

The main distinguishing features of various types of cob

Initially, the holster appeared exclusively as a bag for placing a gun, and also to protect the powder shelf from moisture. To get a gun, in those days it was required to unfasten a lot of clasps and hooks, which required a lot of time. So very quickly the holsters became smooth. This was largely due to the improvement of the weapons themselves, which could quickly lead to battle.

To further accelerate the process, some masters stitched a special strap into the holster. If a skilled hand to pull for it, then the weapon jumps straight into the hand! Such a holster for a pistol was a real find for brethors and other personalities, whom the need to shoot could be found at any moment. Very convenient open holsters without rigid fixation of pistols, which are very common even today.

There is no cover for such species, which makes it easier to snatch a weapon. The handle of the gun just pops out. It is fixed in the holster either by the force of friction, or by means of a small and narrow strap. It can easily be thrown off with one finger, and no effort is required for this. In addition, models in which fixation of weapons occur due to a small magnet have gained some popularity. They are also very convenient.

Operatives of various law enforcement agencies are venerated with tactical holsters, which are fixed with a special "harness" on their shoulders. On the other hand, a special clip with loaded magazines can be attached to the gun. If the fit was done by a professional, then the fact of carrying a weapon can be seen only by another experienced person.

In the relatively recent past, rigid holsters with a stock function were quite common. In this case, they are made of hard plastic or even wood ("Mauser C-96", APS). In some cases, the role of the butt was made by a rigid board, to which was attached a "classic" leather bag (parabellum, there was such a holster for a TT pistol). Being fastened to a pistol, such a device significantly improves accuracy and accuracy of fire.

What are the requirements for the holstered holster?

First, such an accessory should be as easy to put on and take off as possible, it should in no case spoil clothes or shoes, do not constrain movements. But the main thing is that such a holster (for the PM pistol or another) not only has to fix the weapon reliably, but also not to hamper its maximum extraction. If we are talking about purely official stamps, these products, in addition to all the above, are also obliged to reliably protect the pistols from the effects of moisture and to hamper as much as possible the attempts of intruders to take possession of the service weapon.

At once we will notice that all nizyapisannoe first of all refers to the legendary PM pistol, which already since the 60s of the last century stands in the arsenal of domestic law enforcement agencies and the army.

Speed or convenience?

According to the amateur, each holster for the PM pistol must first of all provide the maximum speed of getting the "trunk". But this is not so. In real life, and not in colorful cinema, this situation is extremely rare. In most cases, the operative, finding himself in a potentially dangerous position, will unbutton it in advance, or even get out a pistol. In the case of detention of a dangerous offender, the weapon must in any case be already in hand, but not on the hip.

Even a simple person who has a license to wear "civil" options for self-defense, it is better to put your gun in your pocket in advance if he is going to go to a very dark entrance late at night. Even if he owns the technique of high-speed snatching, this does not help to repel an attack committed from a distance of less than two meters. In this case, even a very convenient holster will fail with a high degree of probability.

Of course, all of the foregoing should not be understood as if the speed of snatching weapons is not important at all: any person who owns it must train this skill without fail. But all the same, we will repeat again that this is not the main thing. Suppose you need a holster for a PM submachine gun. What should I look for when choosing?

We advise you to remember three things: convenience of wearing, reliability of fixing and stealth. Why? Most likely, you are unlikely to ever find yourself in a situation where your life depends on the speed at which the weapon is snatched up (in any case, it would not be better), but you will probably carry it almost daily.

Imagine a situation where you have a holster that can be unfastened from any "sneeze": your gun may well fall out when you bend down to tie your shoelaces. And what about the inconvenient model? Yes, you can wipe the skin to the blood, daily and at least eight hours a day without parting with the weapon.

"Advice to motorists"

If you travel most of the time around the neighborhood not on your own two, but on a car, you need to remember something else. It's about the fact that a person who wears a seat belt, simply physically can not snatch a weapon ... when holsters for pistols are used. In the case where your main means of transportation is public transportation, bring up to yourself the automatic skill, imperceptibly for others to check the presence of a pistol in the holster. If you get used to its mass, then one day you just can not notice how a clever pickpocket will leave you without a staff or personal trunk.

Optimal options for concealed wearing

In recent years, many employees of the law enforcement agencies believe that the best holster for the submachine gun is a concealed wearing device that is manufactured in the company of Igor Kosarev and Yuri Mosunov. Strange as it may seem, but small-scale manufacturers are distinguished by increased attention to ergonomics and the overall quality of production, which is not always possible to say about the production of serial production. What is even stranger, in fact, piece products at the same time are much cheaper than "flow" models.

Experience shows that in any situation, the "strong" holsters show themselves best, in the kit to which there is a pocket for an additional store. By "strong" it is understood that the weapon must always be under the working arm. Classic is considered an option, when the holster is worn on the strap, which is attached to it through two cutouts along the edges. Remember that there are really no special differences between the models of different manufacturers, since here you can only talk about the quality of production, and about the materials used with this.

The position of the handle in relation to the body of the arrow

It is better when the handle rises above the belt of the shooter, because in this situation it fits most closely to the person's body, minimizing the probability of finding a weapon. Professionals testify that even with the wearing of a light jacket, the gun is completely invisible, and its wearing is not difficult. If you need a variant of hidden, daily and permanent wearing, then it is the options with a high location of the handle of the gun should be selected.

"Western" or real operation?

There is an opinion that in fact, it is more convenient and practical that those systems that assume the removal of the handle some distance from the body of the arrow. In particular, it is this holster for the pistol Yarygin leading among professionals in the environment of bullet shooting. Yes, in this situation, they indeed show themselves perfectly, far exceeding all existing options that were created specifically for the purposes of concealed wearing. But just so nothing happens and without consequences does not remain. Here everything is very simple - the further the handle of the weapon is from the human body, the more pronounced it is "printed" even through dense clothes.

In some situations, such a circumstance may well cost one's life, and therefore one should not confuse stand shooting with the experience of real work of employees of various law enforcement agencies. Of course, if you are discussing a holster for an air gun, which can only scare away stray dogs, then all of the above is of no special importance, unlike real combat options.

And if in trousers?

Yes, there is such an option. In the west it was called IWB. In this case, the holster is directly in the pants, clinging to the edge of the trousers with a specially released staple. Such models are extremely good in that the presence of weapons can be disguised, even when wearing light trousers and a summer T-shirt. Since it is not easy to make a holster for a pistol of this type convenient, the cost of these models is quite high. But they are definitely worth their money.

The second great advantage of such a hollow is the fact that they do not in any way depend on the waist belt. Sitting behind the wheel, they can easily move to your convenient side. In this case, you can wear such an accessory not only in trousers, but also outside, in the open version. In addition, most manufacturers make loops on these holsters, thanks to which they can be hooked on the belt.

Holsters designed to be worn at the back of the belt

There is also an unusual option of fixing the PM pistol when it is located on the back of the belt with the handle, which is slightly left to the right and slightly upward. The method of fastening is very nontrivial, so that so specific holster models have both a lot of defenders, and a considerable number of ardent opponents. The latter quite rightly remark that with such a holster it's difficult to sit somewhere comfortably, and when you fall on your back, your health is seriously threatened.

But the supporters are resting on the fact that such a holster for the operational pistol is perfectly covered with clothes hanging from the back. In general, all are right. Many experienced operatives believe that such a holster does not fit all the arrows, but only those of them that have rich practical experience. However, this method of wearing weapons for some reason found widespread use in gangster circles of the 90s. Is it likely that the grip of the pistol with its widely spaced legs looked beautiful on the wide screen?

It is important to note only that when carrying a weapon on the back to the choice of a holster it should be treated with increased attention, since it will be difficult to snatch it, with the slightest drawbacks of the latter's design.

Shoulderpads

Again, a fairly wide range of operatives are fans of shoulder versions, and made of modern synthetic materials.

However, the same experts will say that in real life it is better to have a traumatic pistol: holsters for military weapons are somehow more handy to wear on the belt. However, these models also have a definite tactical niche, which you should not completely forget about. For example, such an accessory is dressed very simply and quickly: it is necessary to throw "harness", and the process is completed.

In addition, the belt system intelligently distributes the weight of the weapon and additional stores so that the person practically does not feel it. So on the mounting of such a holster it is quite possible to place either expanded ammunition, or some necessary tools. Simply put, this holster for Makarov's pistol is ideal for creating an "alarm set", which must be instantly worn at any time of the day and in any condition.

Other advantages of shoulder systems

Finally, when a person applies a shoulder holster, he immediately releases a lot of space on his waist belt, which can already be missed. Remove a bunch of accessories from the belt in order to put the holster in there - that's still a mess, and not all the arrows are ready to accept this inconvenience. With the shoulder variant everything is much simpler, as it can simply be put on and removed, not "bothering" for some trifles. The only thing that can cause inconvenience is the need to fasten two fixing straps on the belt, but this procedure is not applicable to the number of mandatory ones, and therefore can be ignored.

The shoulder system ideally consists of the holster itself, a pouch for storing additional stores, and a suspension system that evenly distributes the weight of the arms along the body of the arrow. Ideal attachment - X-shaped, with wide straps, which do not rub the skin and favorably reflect on the convenience of constantly wearing the gun.

Strangely enough, but the widest belts are much less visible through clothing, minimizing the probability of "opening" the shooter. In an additional pouch, ideally, there should be not only a pocket for carrying an additional store, but also a spacious side compartment where you can put documents, additional cartridges, and other necessary accessories.

Trauma as a "pleasant addition"

Practice shows that such a holster for concealed carrying of a pistol allows to place with sufficient comfort not only the combat "trunk", but also traumatic weapons.

If the branches are equipped with Velcro valves, then additional weapons are securely fixed, and the probability of its spontaneous slip is reduced to zero. It is necessary to choose a model that can be unfastened with one thumb, due to the presence of a convenient push-button fastener. Shoulder holsters are also good because they can easily be altered for wearing on the waist, and this operation will not take much time.

Of course, absolutely universal equipment does not exist in the world, but nevertheless it is more convenient to have one holster for a pistol (the photos are presented in the article) than a set of two or three different modifications between which one has to choose.

In general, these are the basic information that should guide when choosing accessories for weapons. And this information is absolutely universal and allows you to choose with the same success as a holster for military weapons, and "envelope" for a traumatic "pugach". Do not forget that the main thing at the same time is to achieve maximum comfort when wearing.
