"Hiberix" - inoculation for the prevention of diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)

To prevent diseases that cause Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), vaccination with the drug "Hibericks". The vaccine begins to protect the body one month after its administration, when antibodies are produced. This occurs in 95-100% of cases. After revaccination, antibodies appear in 100% of children. It should be known to those who use the vaccine "Hibericks": the vaccination does not protect against bacterial meningitis and from diseases caused by other species of Haemophilus influenzae. Between injections there should be an interval of up to two months. The first vaccination is carried out from six weeks, and a second vaccination is given in two years.

"Hiberix". Information on the vaccine

The drug can be administered in a single syringe with a vaccine against pertussis, poliomyelitis, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, rubella and mumps. Enter the agent intramuscularly. After vaccination, side effects may occur. Basically, these are local reactions in the form of a small spontaneous disappearance of hyperemia, tenderness at the injection site and weak puffiness. Systemic reactions are manifested as a restless state, fever, decreased appetite, diarrhea, nausea. As a rule, they are insignificant and do not require any treatment.

In exceptional cases, there may be allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock. About the vaccine "Hiberix" reviews are met and negative. Usually they are left by parents, whose babies were vaccinated during the disease. In this case complications can develop. The vaccine is used until the age of five. Vaccinated patients should be under medical supervision for half an hour, since an anaphylactic reaction may occur, but this happens in isolated cases.

The composition contains one dose (10 μg) of tetanus toxoid- purified capsular polysaccharide (PRP) Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B). The drug is produced in ampoules or vials in the form of lyophilizate, from which a solution for subcutaneous and intramuscular injection is prepared.

Vaccination schedule

Beginning of vaccination for the prevention of hemophilic b-infection is envisaged from the age of three months. The course includes three inoculations at intervals of one, half or two months between doses. In the second year of life, the child should be re-vaccinated with Hiberica. Vaccination of children at six months of age is carried out in two stages with an interval of one month.

Advantages and contraindications

Vaccination is not carried out if the child has acute infectious diseases, which are accompanied by fever. Individual reaction to components of the Hiberica vaccine is possible. If after previous injections of the drug hypersensitivity reactions were observed, repeated vaccination is not carried out.

If we talk about the benefits, it is worth noting that the drug "Hiberix" does not contain living microorganisms. Thanks to vaccination, antibodies are produced that help prevent the most serious in terms of HIB meningitis and other forms of infection. Relatively safe vaccine "Hiberic" - vaccination is easily tolerated. Adverse events are mostly mild and short-lived.
