The most common diseases of cats are the symptoms to which attention should be paid

Contrary to the popular belief that cats are viable animals, veterinarians note quite a number of diseases of these animals. Symptoms of the fact that the cat is sick, every caring owner should know. Especially such a description of the symptoms will be useful to people who first started in the cat's house. And although dangerous conditions in violation of the health of the pet are not so common, every owner needs to know the signs of ill health, in time to contact the veterinarian for help.

Violations of urination

These symptoms will indicate the kidney diseases of cats, the symptoms of which are manifested as follows:

• Upset. Frequent urination of a cat is a sign of cystitis. This can be explained by stubborn excrement past the bath - the cat experiences severe pain.

• Unusually strong thirst - this can be a sign of dangerous diseases: diabetes or cystitis.

Urolithiasis in cats, the symptoms of which are more often observed in males due to the structure of their body, is considered the most common pathology in these animals.

Impairment of appetite

• If the cat does not eat anything for 36 hours - it's an occasion to call the doctor, even if the animal looks healthy.

• Increased appetite against a background of losing weight can cause hypertension - a disease of cats, the symptoms of which are manifested in this way.

Violation of breathing, sneezing and coughing

Sometimes cardiovascular and respiratory diseases of cats can develop, the symptoms of these disorders can be as follows:

• Shortness of breath after a lively game.

• Coughing in the morning.

• Sneezing and sniffing for no apparent reason.

• Superficial, rapid breathing.

• Deep breathing followed by suffocation.

• Change the color of the tongue and the sky of the animal (bluish gray).

Excessively salivary salivation

There are serious diseases of cats, the symptoms of which are manifested in the violation of salivation. It can be: toothache, poisoning with chemical preparations, inflammatory process of the oral mucosa, liver disease. And although drooling may briefly be at the cat due to the fact that she ate something bitter or excited, do not forget that this is also a formidable sign of rabies. It is never out of place to consult a veterinarian on this matter.

Violations in habitual behavior

• Excessive drowsiness and weakness - often a sign of fever (you should take the cat to the doctor if his temperature is above 40 or below 38 degrees).

• Aggressiveness, not characteristic of your pet, is a sign of pain.

• Lethargy and indifference, the animal is hammered into a secluded place - an excuse to check his health.

Hair loss or severe itching

There are skin diseases of cats, the symptoms of which, as a rule, boil down to wool loss and constant carding. This can be caused by such causes as the presence of fleas and scabies, allergies to certain types of food and ringworm. If you notice that the cat has hair falling out, do not panic, talk to the veterinarian. Perhaps this is the result of malnutrition or improper care of the animal (too often combing the cat's hair leads to baldness).

Stool disorder

The following signs may be symptoms of a cat's infection with worms:

• Emaciation more often or less often than usual.

• Difficulty with bowel movements or even pain.

• Excrement is friable or watery, while the animal does not go to the bath.

Even if visually the white worms are not visible in the stool, they can still be in the cat's stomach.

Diarrhea can be a consequence of improper nutrition. Try to return to the usual diet for the animal, and the problem can disappear by itself.

Tumors

As soon as you notice any swelling in your pet (especially in the area of the tummy), try to consult a doctor. Any abscesses, warts and cysts can be diagnosed only by a specialist, since at first glance they are indistinguishable. The swelling on the abdomen is especially dangerous, because in most cases the swelling of the mammary glands in cats is malignant.

If you are attentive to your pet, he will stay healthy and will be able to please his family for many years.
