Henrietta Yanovskaya - who is she?

Henrietta Yanovsku can be called without fear a great theater director, incredibly talented, with an individual and unmatched style, energy, intelligibility. The profession of the director is a complicated profession and, in principle, not a woman, requiring a persistent character, a hard hand and an iron will. And when a woman took part in this profession, she not only survived, but breathed into the theatrical life something new, hitherto untested, made a breakthrough, created something unlike anything else-a talent that not everyone can use even if there is one.

Henrietta Yanovskaya, whose biography begins in Leningrad, was born not long before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, in June 1940. In 1967 she graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema. I must say that she was lucky to get on the course of GA Tovstonogov - a talented director, which ones. And this largely determined the nature of the girl herself and formed the backbone and basic postulates of her as a theater director.

Choosing a creative way

Recalling his communication with Tovstonogov, Henrietta says that at first she could not at first get used to the fact that she was next to a great man. The girl listened to him, opening her mouth, and every time she pulled herself up, realizing where he was and where she was. Tovstonogov is a representative of totalitarian theater art. He is great, but his character is very difficult. Working with the director was difficult, but terribly interesting - studying at the maestro brought incredible pleasure.

At the institute, fate brought the girl with her classmate - Kama Ginkas, he later became for Yanovskaya everything - and her husband, and shoulder, and colleague in the shop (Kama Ginkas - theater director).

Henrietta Yanovskaya, whose photo resembled Hollywood actresses, could have become a wonderful actress of the theater, all the data was with her. Only one quality prevented her from taking part in the acting profession - excessive love of freedom. She could not obey another's will, Yanovskaya was the leader. Nature has rewarded the woman with beauty, but Henrietta Yanovskaya has never been particularly obsessed with this. Growth, weight, diet - these questions did not bother a pretty girl. She almost immediately dismissed the work of the actress, deciding to seek inspiration in directing. And I was not mistaken. And even more paradoxically, Henrietta Naumovna managed to develop her directorial gift in a difficult time (in the Soviet era), when all were humiliated and crushed, not to mention women.

Beginning of the director's profession

Director's debut Yanovsky took place in the Leningrad Regional Maly Drama Theater in 1967. It was the production of L. Zorin's play "The Warsaw Melody". However, work in the city of childhood on this was over. Yanovskaya went to Krasnoyarsk, following her husband. But here it should be said that the girl did not go to another city from despair - on the contrary, she rushed there with full confidence that this city will be the center of the universe, because it will be Yanovskaya and Ginkas - it is with this energy charge that this beautiful young woman Went to meet his fate.

Kama Ginkas headed the Young Spectator Theater in Krasnoyarsk, where Henriette Yanovsky worked for two years, from 1970 to 1972.

The first directorial work of Yanovsky in the northern city was made in 1970. The play was called "The Miracle Worker" and narrated the history of the training of a deaf-blinded girl.

Since 1984, the life of Henrietta Yanovsky began a new stage, when the director presented her production of "The Widow Steamer" to the court of the Moscow public at the Mossovet Theater. The production was very successful. However, the truly famous in the capital Yanovskaya made a performance "The Heart of a Dog" by Mikhail Bulgakov. The theatrical season of 1986-1987 was remembered by the triumphant premiere of this performance. Since 1986, Henrietta Naumovna directed the Moscow Theater of the young spectator, she is his main director. I must say that with the arrival of Yanovsky in the Theater for Young Spectators, everything has radically changed. The woman did not plan to make a revolution in theatrical art. She wanted to adjust something, but she did not want to change everything radically. However, today the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators is something new, different from the theater in its usual sense.

About the theater

Today, the Moscow Theater for Young People is a wonderful theater, but it's not at all childish, or rather, it's not just for children. In the daytime, the actors of the troupe instill love for art to a small spectator, but in the evening the performance gathers adults in its hall and tells about serious life issues, problems of the individual and society as a whole. Yanovskaya Henrietta Naumovna loves to reflect on the modern theater, about its role in the life of every person, about the modern spectator. For example, the director believes that the old theater, as something great and intriguing, has disappeared forever. More correctly, that audience, intelligent, who demanded something big, educated, sublime, disappeared. Today everything has become much simpler, the attitude towards the theater is different - people consider it entertainment and go to plays more often than in the cinema or on concerts of performers.

But, in spite of everything, the productions of Yanovsky find their true connoisseur. Colleagues on the shop say that in Henrietta Naumovna's plays they are immersed in the story, told from the stage, do not pay attention to the details, do not analyze, they do not think - they are just emotionally perceived. And this is the sign of the greatest director's skill.

Each performance is a hard-won story

In the life of Henrietta Yanovsky there were different periods, there were both ups and downs. She is familiar with the situation when there is no work, and there is an emptiness around which one has to fill something. In the period of lack of money Yanovskaya knitted - consistently, scrupulously, bit by bit - and fed the whole family. Maybe that's why the director thinks that every theatrical production must be perfected - to suffer, to survive, to drink to the bottom. That is why, probably, after each performance, the director feels a temporary loss of strength and devastation of the soul.

Speaking about theatrical productions in general, Yanovskaya compares them to a cone, the top of which is the director's idea; The fact from which he repels. The task of each leader is to do everything possible to make the effect of the production as far as possible dissipate in space, like the base of this figure. And every point on the surface of the cone is the perception of the situation by each individual viewer. Each has its own, different from the perception of the other and from the original idea and the director's thoughts, too. Only such a model will make sense, only on this principle the theater will work.

About life

In the record of the director Yanovsky more than thirty productions. She does not often produce performances. This happens not more than once a year, and maybe even less often. And yet she has a lot of ideas, ideas and plans. It is in demand, and is not afraid of competition from the youth.

Arguing about the contemporary directors who come to the profession today, Yanovskaya notes that they are trying too fast to cover everything - they are taking risks, they are in a hurry. In the 75th year of life, a woman frankly admits that even at such a mature age, she does not understand everything in this life, not all secrets are revealed. Henrietta Yanovskaya, whose family is her husband, still lays the lion's share of her time in the profession. There she draws inspiration, strength, wisdom. Yanovsky and Ginkas have a son, however, he chose a spiritual path for himself and lives now in another city, far from his parents.
