Grass oregano: application, properties and contraindications

Oregano is a herbaceous plant, perennial, belonging to the family of the Gubotsvetnye. Straight, branchy tetrahedral stems are covered with thin hairs. Leaves are finely toothed along margin, petiolate, oblong-ovate, opposite. Blossoms oregano from July to September, many small purple flowers collected in spikelets. Procurement of raw materials

Medicinal raw materials are above-ground flowering leafy stems and flowers. The billet is produced at the very beginning of flowering, cutting about 20 cm long, along with the inflorescences. After that, the raw materials are knitted in bundles and dried, hanging for this purpose in a ventilated dark room. After drying, the leaves and flowers are separated from the stems by the method of threshing or wiping through a nonmetallic coarse screen. Stored raw materials can not last longer than 3 years in hermetically sealed glass containers.

The smell of oregano is pleasant, the taste is tart, slightly astringent, bitterish-spicy.

This medicinal plant has the ability to suppress microbial flora in pulmonary tuberculosis, sore throats, rashes, and also is used to heal wounds. In addition, broths of oregano are recommended for use in staphylococcal infections, especially in children.

Applicable oregano and externally. For washing and compresses it is used for headaches and skin rashes. With scrofula or rickets in children they can be bathed in broth of oregano. Baths with the addition of decoction are taken with various rashes. To stimulate hair growth or headaches, wash the head with a decoction or infusion of oregano. Effective are preparations of oregano for rinsing with inflammation of the mouth or throat, as well as as compresses or lotions for eczema, itching rashes, abscesses, boils and for washing wounds.

1. Infusion of oregano. 2 tables are filled with boiling water (200 g). Spoons of raw materials, a quarter of an hour insist and drink twice a day for 100 g before meals. The same infusion is used for lotions, rinses and compresses. For baths, take 10 liters of water and 10 tablespoons of raw materials.

2. Decoction of oregano. 200 g of hot water pour 2 teaspoons of herbs, cover with a lid, put in a hot water bath. A quarter of an hour is heated, cooled and used as well as infusion.

3. Infusion of oregano for the treatment of epilepsy: 300 g of boiled water take 10 g of grass, insist and filter. Take this infusion before meals to 100 g three times a day. The course is 3 years.

4. The taxon fee. A mixture of tablespoon chamomile and oregano pour 200 g of boiling water, put in a bowl and in a water bath for about 5 minutes, cool, filter and take 100 grams in the morning and evening.

5. Sweating tea. Two tablespoons of a mixture of 1 part of the motherboard, two parts of dried raspberries, 2 parts of leaves of mother-and-stepmother pour 400 g of steep boiling water, a quarter of an hour insist, filter and drink 100 grams hot three times a day.

6. Thoracic tea. Take a tablespoon of a mixture of 2 parts of the root of the althaea, 2 parts of leaves of mother-and-stepmother and 1 ochergano, pour 400 g of steep boiling water, puff for a quarter of an hour, filter and drink warmly after eating 100 grams.

7. For the gargling of the throat and mouth, an anti-inflammatory preparation is prepared: two tables. Spoons of a mixture of four parts of oregano, 6 parts of oak bark, 1 part of the root of the althea pour 400 g of steep boiling water, a quarter of an hour insist, filter. Use in a warm form after eating for rinsing several times a day.

8. Tea: 2 teaspoons of herbs pour 200 g of boiling water, 3 minutes insist and drink with honey or sugar the whole serving. Such tea stimulates digestion. It is recommended to drink it and women with early menopause or with constant and frequent hot flashes, severe bleeding, oppressed mental state, and also to increase lactation in lactating mothers.

Contraindications

Contraindication to this herb is any period of pregnancy, because, causing a contraction of the uterus, it serves as an oregano for the interruption of pregnancy.
