Goncharov, "Oblomov": a summary of the novel

The novel "Oblomov was written for 10 years. He conceived it in 1947, Ivan Goncharov. "Oblomov," whose summary is considered in this article, is included in the trilogy, along with the works "The Cliff" and "Ordinary History".

The novel tells the story of the nobleman Ilya Ilich Oblomov, who lives with his faithful servant Zakhar in Petersburg. But what about the brief content about Ilya Ilyich? Goncharov, Oblomov which is the protagonist of the work, represents his main character as a very peculiar person. He does not do anything, he almost never leaves the house. All his thoughts are occupied only by one - dreams of a carefree life in his native Oblomovka. Ultimately, Oblomov became a burden every day to shave and wear a suit. To all social events he prefers lying on the couch.

Longstanding childhood friend of Ilya Ilyich Stolz - the complete opposite of the carefree, languid and dreamy Oblomov. This is how he was created by Goncharov. Oblomov, whose brief content is now before you, draws Stolz the same age as Ilia. At present, he is just over thirty. But even in his young years Stolz had already served, retired and made money and a home. Stolz tries to shake Ilya in every way. He advises Oblomov for a while to change the situation, go to the village and again engage in secular life. In addition, Andrew introduces Ilya with a beautiful girl named Olga Ilyinskaya. From that day on, Oblomov's life changes. He falls in love, spends all free time with the girl. A little later, after some time of reflection, he even offers Olga his hand and heart. Meanwhile, Oblomov's servant Zakhar also finds his second half. He takes as his wife the simple woman Anisya, who in the shortest possible time brings the whole house of Ilya Ilyich in order.

But the general joy and jubilation do not last long. "Nothing lasts long" - decides Goncharov. Oblomov, whose summary is considered in the article, loses its iridescent notes. Stolz, succumbing to the intrigues of Tarantiev, leaves Petersburg. Meanwhile, Oblomov moved to live in another apartment, kindly hired by Mikhee Andreevich. So Ilya Ilyich goes to the house of Agafia Pshenitsyna, whose brother is personally acquainted with Mikhey Andreitch and does not yield to him in greed, cunning and cunning.

Gradually the whole economy of Ilya Ilyich passes into Pshenitsyn's hands. Agafya Matveyevna already in full control of his house, and Oblomov again plunges into his sweet, serene sleep. Occasionally he continues to meet with his beloved Olga, but she soon begins to be disappointed in the chosen one. Once, unable to withstand his lethargy, Olga comes to him directly on the Vygodskaya side. But by this time Ilya Ilyich Oblomov is already finally plunging into his undisturbed sleep. Mukhoyarov, meanwhile, manages to get the affairs of Ilya Oblomov on his estate. Oblomov himself falls ill with fever.

Further actions of the novel unfold only a year later. This is how Goncharov decides to build his work. "Oblomov," a brief summary of which you now see before you, shows the future life of Ilya Ilyich simple and measured. Days and nights are changing, in the pores of the year, on holidays Agafya Matveevna bakes pies, cooks food, cooks coffee for Oblomov. Later Pshenitsyna understands that she fell in love with the master. And Olga Ilyinskaya in the meantime gets used to Stolz and accepts his offer of the hand and heart.

A few years later, Stolz came to Vygodskaya side to see his long-time friend. Ilya Ilyich is doing well: he has a loving wife and a little son, Andrei. Oblomov is happy. He only asks Stolz after his death to look after the little Andrei.

After five years Oblomov was gone. Stoltsy asked Andryusha for upbringing. Agafya Matveyevna also concentrated all her love on her son ...
