The magic story "Black Hen, or Underground residents." Summary

Surely many will remember a gloomy puppet cartoon about a boy who lived a long time in a private school, a black chicken and a short-lived folk who lived somewhere under the earth.

This cartoon film is based on the fairy tale novel "Black Chicken, or Underground People", a summary of which will be set forth in this article. Well, perhaps, we will proceed.

The story "Black hen, or Underground inhabitants". Summary

The author of this work is the famous Russian writer of the first half of the nineteenth century Alexei Alekseevich Perovsky. His literary pseudonym - Antony Pogorelsky. "Black Chicken" was written by him in 1829 for his nephew - Count Alexei Tolstoy (a relative of Leo Tolstoy on his father's side), also a future writer.

The beginning of history

"Black hen, or Underground inhabitants" begins with a story about the main character - the boy Alyosha, who was from a remote province. At the age of 10 he was brought to St. Petersburg to a private boarding school (closed school for boys), where he was left in the care of a teacher with payment for several years in advance. The boy was modest and diligent, so he was loved by both comrades and mentor.

The development of the plot of the story "Black Hen, or Underground People"

I would like to briefly describe the history of the following events. It so happened that one day Alyosha saved his favorite, the hen Chernushka, with whom he played in the bird's yard, from the knife of the cook. The same night he was awakened by Chernushka and led him along the sleeping house to show something "pretty." However, because of the negligence of the boy at that time, their campaign was not crowned with haste.

The next night the chicken again came for Alyosha. This time, they eventually ended up in the Underworld, where little people lived.

The king of this people offered Alyosha any reward for saving his first minister, Chernushka. The boy did not think of anything better than to ask for the ability to answer all the lessons without preparing for them. The king did not like the laziness of the pupil shown in this request, but he fulfilled the promise: Alyosha was given a hemp seed, which he had to carry with him in order to meet homework assignments. At parting, the boy was asked not to tell anyone about where he was and what he saw, because otherwise the underground residents will have to leave their homes in new unknown lands and begin to rebuild life. The boy vowed to keep the secret entrusted to him.

From that day Alyosha became the best student not only in his boarding school, but in all of Petersburg. At first, the boy was uncomfortable with taking undeserved praises. However, soon he himself believed in his own exclusiveness, became proud, began to be naughty. His character spoiled every day - he became angry, sassy and lazy.

The teacher no longer praised him, but, on the contrary, tried to reason with him. Once he asked Alyosha to learn 20 pages of the text by heart. But it turned out that he lost the seed, and therefore could not answer the lesson. He was locked in the bedroom until he was ready. However, the lazy mind refused to remember the task. At night Chernushka appeared to him and returned the seed with a request to reform, once again reminding of his promise to remain silent about the underworld. Alyosha promised both.

The sad outcome

The next day he answered with a brilliance the lesson. However, instead of praising the disciple, the mentor asked to explain when he learned the task. Otherwise, the poor fellow was threatened with flogging. The boy forgot about everything and told about Chernushka, the grain and the Underworld. The result was deplorable: he was considered a liar and still flogged, the inhabitants of the dungeon had to leave, Chernushka was shackled forever, and the seed disappeared forever. From the feelings of guilt and remorse, Alyosha fell ill and lay in a fever for six weeks.

After recovery, the boy again became kind and obedient. He regained the disposition of his comrades and teacher. He became a diligent, though not an outstanding student.

Thus ends the amazing fairy tale "Black Chicken, or Underground People". You already know the summary, but read the full text, because there are many interesting and mysterious texts in it.
