Gevorg Ghazaryan: the career of the Armenian striker

The Armenian Beginning

The first professional steps in football Gevorg Ghazaryan made as part of the Armenian club "Pyunik", for the youthful composition of which the forward performed the first season. The progress of the 17-year-old striker was noticed by the coaching staff, and already in July 2005 the player made his debut in the Armenian championship, but could not convince the club coach and continued the performance for the second team of Pyunik. In 2006, when he came on as a substitute in the match against "Shirak", Gevorg Ghazaryan formed his first goal in the club's base, which coincided with the first double of the player.

In the next season, the forward was waiting for a half-year lease in "Banants" in search of a game practice, where he in the first match became the author of a hat trick. High performance of the player did not go unnoticed, and he was invited to the national team, where the football player entered the field in the qualifying match of the 2008 European Championship against Portugal, which ended in a draw - 1: 1. For "Pyunik" Gevorg Ghazaryan continued to perform until 2011. As part of this club, he became the 5-fold champion of Armenia, and also several times won in the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. In winter 2011, the striker took part in the gathering of Krasnodar "Kuban", but did not go to the Russian club, and in the summer of the same year signed a contract with the Donetsk "Metallurg".

Failure in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the striker came as a married man, but in the new club Gevorg Kazaryan, whose wife Victoria was not very good at football, he said, could not prove himself at a high level. Having played in 70 meetings of Donetsk players, with an asset of 9 goals and 4 assists, in the summer of 2013 the striker left for Karaganda "Shakhtar", where he played for half a year, and after 6 months of contract with the Ukrainian club he moved to the Greek Olympiakos.

Moving to Portugal

As part of the famous team of Greece, Ghazaryan almost did not manage to play - for six months in "Olympiakos" striker took part in 7 meetings, twice distinguished himself with an effective transfer. In January 2015, the Armenian striker made another attempt to play in the Greek championship, moving to "Corfu", but after all the same 6 months he left for Portugal, signing a contract with Marítimo. In the new club Gevorg showed himself very mature, but a series of injuries during the two seasons did not allow him to show maximum zeal. For 44 meetings in the "lions" striker scored just 10 points, equally divided goals and assists.
