GAZ-3507 (SAZ): history, technical characteristics, features

Gorky Automobile Plant in the USSR was one of the main producers of light and medium-duty trucks. And still maintains these positions in Russia. One of these models is the GAZ-3507 (SAZ).

General Features

This car is a medium-tonnage truck with all-metal body of various discharge options, created on the basis of the chassis GAZ-33072 (3309). Its double designation is explained by the fact that the Saransk Dump Truck Plant was engaged in the production of the car on the GAZ platform.

History

Serial production of the medium-capacity model of the 4th generation 3307 began in 1989 as a successor to the GAZ-53A. Based on it, two versions of the dump trucks were developed: 3507-01 and 35072. In the early 2000s, the 3309 chassis was developed, which was also used for them, as a result of which versions 35071 and 35072-10 appeared. In 2009, the production of gasoline modifications on the platform 33072 was discontinued.

Chassis

The frame has a stamped, riveted structure. At the same time, for the GAZ-3507 (SAZ) it was slightly changed. So, we installed a rear frame shortened by 0.152 m, the spare wheel was moved to 0.272 m back. In addition, the 33072 towing device was replaced with towing hooks on the GAZ-SAZ-3507. The specifications below are different for each version. Only the wheelbase for all variants is 3.77 m, the front track 1.69 m, and the rear track 1.63 m.

Cabin

The cab was taken from the original modification 3307. In all versions it is metal, two-door, two-seater. Equipped with a heater, but there is no air-conditioning. The seats have a height adjustment and an inclination angle of the backrest. The hydraulic control levers of the body are in the cab.

Platform

Modifications of the car differ in design, overall dimensions of the body and the way it is tilted. The cargo platform of versions 35071 and 3507-01 has a length of 3.516 m, a width of 2.28 m, a height of 0.62 m (1.25 m with extensions). Its area is 8 m ² , the volume is 5 m ³ . Increased sides increase the last parameter twice. In this case, the side and rear sides are foldable, so unloading can be carried out in three directions.

Later a new version of the platform for these versions appeared. It has a length (3,484 m) and a width (2,304 m) from the old one.

The body of the truck is equipped with a telescopic hydraulic drive of one-way action, consisting of three retractable sections, the total length of which is equal to 0.667 m. This mechanism provides a rollover of the body 45 ° sideways or 50 ° back. The tilting and resetting process takes 30 seconds. There are options with an Italian drive. The overall dimensions of these versions are 6.471 m in length, 2.456 m in width, 2.32 m in height (in the cabin).

Modifications 35072 and 35072-10 have a different body. In addition, they are divided into versions 0000010 and 0000015. The overall dimensions of the body are 3.05 m in length, 2,337 m in width and 0.586 m (0000010) or 0.781 m (0000015 due to the presence of a visor) - in height. Its floor area is 7.1 m ² , the volume with extensions is 4 m ³ (0000010) or 5.4 m ³ (0000015). These variants only flap the tailgate (reinforced in the first version), therefore, unloading can only be carried out in this direction.

The hydraulic drive also allows the body to be tilted backwards by 50 °. The length of such machines is 6,163 m, width - 2,7 m, height on the cabin - 2,35 m. Engine

The car meets two motors: ZMZ-5231 (3507-01 and 35072) and MMZ D-245.7 E3 (35071 and 35072-10). Chassis

Suspension brackets were attached to four semi-elliptical longitudinal springs. The front has double-acting telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers. The rear is equipped with additional springs. The ground clearance is 265 mm. Diesel cars are equipped with a steering gear such as a screw-nut with a hydraulic booster, and gasoline - a globoid worm with a three-roll roller without an amplifier. Performance

For 35072 similar parameters without extensions are 3.69 tons and 7.94 tons respectively.

Truck 35071 is able to transport 4 tons, and 35072 to 3.95 tons. The values of loaded and full weight for the first version are 3.94 and 8.09 tons, for the second version - 4.08 and 8.18 tons. Fuel consumption also differs . Gasoline versions spend at 100 km at 60 km / h 19.6 liters, and diesel - 14 liters. The maximum speed is 95 km / h for 35072-10 and 90 km / h for other modifications of the GAZ-3507 (SAZ).
